  • RS2 seats - a straight fit (91 3B)?

    Hi all
Have finally got me a pair of RS2 front seats and hoped they would bolt directly on my -91 3B. From what I have heard they should. The seat fits, but the longitudal adjustment is on the wrong side of the seat! (See pic, seat on right side)
The lever at 2. should be connected to 1.

Here's the original seat on the left side. The pieces are connected.

Anyone else experienced this? is it normal to have the lever for longitudal seat adjustment on the "door side" of the seat?

Checked the family album, on the pics in there the lever is towards the centre of the car (like my "new" seats).

Need a suggestion on how to solve this!

    Regards Leif-Helge

Maybe this is a 3b - ABY thing? My 3B has the levers on the door side of the seats.

I just looked at some ABY seats that I have in the garage, the levers are on the tunnel side.

So they are different, I'm going to be having the same problem if I ever get round to fitting this leather interior..

Not sure how you can deal with this, maybe you can use the 3B mechanism on the RS2 seat?

Is it just a case of swapping the seat bases over? Or try swapping seats to see if they fit.

This is can help you with ... Simple take off the lower part of the seat (in danish "understellet", you should understand that). You will have to bend some metal, but it should be possible, how i got my leather seats in the car...

              thanks guys..

looks like a 3B-ABY difference. Have tried to swap seats but not possible, the seat bases are assymetrical. The middle "rail" also fits just to one side because the "L" shaped profile.
Jonas, it's the same word in Norwegian, thats right. Thanks for the tip, but I will try to modify the bracket on the floor to make things work. The seats are in place now, with temporary longitudal adjustment. Must say I liked them, both the looks and the function! (See pics)

Does the electric adjustment work in the S2? I take it they just need a b+ feed to operate the motors. Are the seats a lot heavier?

                    electrics

B+ and ground. Hooked it up to the cig. lighter (or what it's called), draws less than 5 amps I think (measured resistance, ~3 ohm minimum). Heated seat connector same as std.

Weight FEELS the same as standard leather seats, not sure.

                    cheers Leif-Helge
