Not had the front leak problem though. I fear it will spell the death of many coupes
it may be worth pulling some of the inside moulding off the hatch, closing the hatch and pouring some water on it to see if the leak is through the lower glass seal to the hatch wing.Peter S

Mine lets in water too. As with your Rusty it gets wet on the side that is sitting lower. I have pinpointed it to leaking in the top of the windscreen. My windscreen has been replaced badly by the looks of it prior to me owning the car. It comes in through the seal (or lack of) at the top of the windscren and depending on what side of the car is lower it runs along the rubber strip at the front of the headlining and drips down. It has obviously been dripping onto the steering wheel as it is badly water damaged.1990 Cq20v GTi Engineering RE2400

Did some research on the front wetness problem as I took the old girl out for a little drying out session :mischeif:
I've identified that the water path to the floor is via the front of the door seals, I looked at the sills, under the protectors, and the carpet and there is a very definite flow path down the front of the door and into the cabin. I have yet to identify why the back leaks and from very wuick investigations, it looks as though it's not from the rear of the door seals as the seat runners are dry and I'd expect them to have telltale water marks on them.
I then looked at the front of the door and the little rubber triangles that fill in the bit where the window isn't are in a state. A quick family album consultation session has shown that they are at least a separate part number so I've PM'd parts daddy for the cost
I think I'll do a little more investigation as weather, health and time allow, would love to sort this in case the alpinweiss ahs to revert back to daily duties, it's been leaking forever so 'Projekt dry as a Nun's chuff' might be a good thing to get on with
Here's a pic (not of a Nun's chuff but of the offending black triangle ):-Attached FilesLast edited by Rusty; 6 December 2009, 17:11.Cheers'en, AndyC
