yup NLA, but there are tons of them around in good nick if you look about (hint) lots of people have broken window mechs lying about
you can adjust them too - I found raising mine 2mm on the window mechs stopped them letting water dribble in

According to parts daddy they're not NLA BUT they are the frankly reduculous sum of £99+VAT... EACH! If I'd been sitting down then I'd have fallen off my chair, perhaps they're akin to an iceberg with only 10% visible.
Looks like nearly £1k to replace all the toss coupe seals

Right, some more highly sxientific tests today have confirmed that the leak is at the corner pieces on the front doors. They are allowing the water to wick along the join with the door seal and then it sticks to the door card, runs down the join between the door card and door seal and then over the door seal and down the inner sill into the car. I've got an idea involving beads of sealant to direct the water away from the inside of the car and also to use Error's idea of moving teh black trinagles. There's alos a further seal that attatches to the door card and mine are none too clever looking.
I'll get some pictures when it's not raining, as mine are the same both sides I'd suggest that this is going to be a very common cause of leaky coupes, the rest is fine, just got the check the bonnet pull grommet.
Final test will be with all the carpet and knackered sound deadening removed, spray a hose on the roof and see what happens
Annoyingly enough, my BM has developed a leak in a very similar way...Cheers'en, AndyC

Good bit of info there, I think I've got my S2 dry now but I'm going to double check those bits with a hose.1990 B3 2.0 80 quattro.

This is precisely how mine is leaking... I tightened the black corner piece up and in, so much so that the window was labouring to shut against the seal... it still leaks...Right, some more highly sxientific tests today have confirmed that the leak is at the corner pieces on the front doors. In fact, tightening the joint between window, corner piece and car has - if anything - made it worse...
It is interesting that it is EXACTLY the same problem with mine, and as you say, I reckon with alot of other coupes...
I will also work on a solution, together we are stronger...!!!!

I think that some flow redirection is the way forwards with this, I've got a few bits fo tape here and there now to try and solve the problem. Of course it's an excuse to get the carpet taken out 'to dry off' and go for the ever fashionable Group N interior mod

My Avant was dry until a couple weeks ago. A tree fell on the roof (it only bent the roof rail though) so I took it to my dads to put in his shed because I thought it might leak in through the roof while I was offshore (turns out it wouldnt). It was late and there were floods and I couldn't be bothered with a 15 mile detour round the 'puddle' so I drove through. It came up to, well top of the wheel arches actually but was flowing in a way that kept the airbox clear of water... I was just about through when I heard the water breaking through the seals
An inch each side!
Carpet is now out, what a complete PITA that is! Turns out I must have had a leak for a while probably from the bonnet release area as the drivers side carpet brackets, the metal ones that hold the mat location pins, have rusted badly.
So I need to go try fix that now too. At least it is not a coupe though, they sound like a right nightmare!Comment

mines just the lights in the boot again. rest is very good.
my personal belief is that unless its a factory window the front screen will leak. the pilkington from autoglass before i asked for an audi one was only kjust on the seal in the top middle and leaked on the side.
now its fine, just damp, in boot near drivers side light.Comment

A Pilkington screen can be made to fit in an acceptable fashion - not quite as neatly as an Audi one, but should not leak if fitted correctly... Although I agree, the screen is not perfect and anybody not 100% au fait with fitting these will make a right balls up...mines just the lights in the boot again. rest is very good.

I know this as I just had my Autoglass abomination (took them 3 attempts to make as good a job as they did...) replaced by people who really know their stuff, as far as I'm aware, you will not find an OE Audi screen in the UK, unless you are VERY lucky...
I can now recreat my leak perfectly, every tme.. I know exactly where it's all coming from and I know it is not the screen.... something I couldn't say 3 weeks ago...
The difference with the Pilkingotn screen is a slightly flatter curvature, that's all...

The Discovery rear door was leaking badly (noticed when i had it washed and was inside-lazy day paid for a wash)
We also had a draft round our French doors in the house-P section draft excluder from Bn Q.
Did the house and had loads left (that was the plan anyway)
Fitted at top of disco back door to redircet water away-job jobbed
Am going to try same in the coupe, will l et you know

Rusty I'm pretty sure mine is leaking at the little rubber triangle too but just on the driver's side, obviously gets more use..Comment
