hi i know their are two different types of wishbone fitted to the s2 but cant work out which i have got fitted!Looked on vag and im pretty sure its the alluminium one but could some post a photo of the steel one, or dimensions for the bushes as they are different as the wishbone feels to heavy to be alluminium!

when you take a look under the car if the wishbone is total solid and cast then that is one type. the other is pressed steel and you can see the sheet edges and the form they have been pressed into.
IMHO the cast ones are preferred over the stamped/pressed steel ones that are only spot welded together, ESPECIALLY if you intend on using non oem control arm bushings (have personally seen two of the stamped/pressed ones fail with Delrin bushings, not pretty)
Also the previous owner of my red CQ (quattro 7a motor) had the stamped passenger control arm fail by the lower ball joint - result was that the passenger front drive shaft was pulled out of the transmission and the passenger front fender was damaged by the wheel also....granted the car has 275,000 miles on it....

and btw, the pressed steel ones ARE NOT the same as those on a type 85...the ones for the Coupe/S2 have three bolt ball joints as shown above...not the two bolt as the type 85...
