Best place to buy Blistein shocks?

    Hello.

I am upgrading my suspension (Finally ) To Bilstein shocks and H&R Springs.

I was quoted the following by my local distributor:

    Front: PE3-3086 (M55 thread)£115.00 each incl VAT

    Rear: P30-3017 (M55 thread)£102.50 each incl VAT

This sounds like a fair price to me. anyone know of any cheaper places?

Also a good place to buy H&R lowering springs?

    Thanks in advance.

My honest opinion is get Koni's from Aelred instead Bo as i believe your car is an everyday car?

Thats a decent price for the Bilsteins btw

90 % of the Bilsteins are imported by ECP between them and motorsportworld.

If you know somebody that can get prices at trade via ECP thats your best bet

I'd say that's a good price... think I paid £120 apeice with VAT.

As far as daily driving goes, I don't have a problem but then I'm not an old man with a bad back (from too many dodgy tackles on the footie pitch ). That said, I avoid speedbumps and bumpy roads like the plague so if you're driving them there country lanes it might be an idea to sample the koni's...

I remember pushing on one side with the stock setup and it bounced up 'n down... the other side had the HR/Bilstein combo and I couldn't get it to move at all. Those shocks are firm as hell...

        Cheers

Bilsteins are air assisted and effectively up your spring rate even before you go to shorter springs, so you want to use stock springs or get shorter springs that are the same rate as stock if you don't want to liquidise your kidneys Konis are great for everyday and in the rain, Billies are the bizniss on the track or when really going for it....

BTW, for the sake of this thread, Billys with Standard springs are lovely, firm and compliant but not too hard with loads of body control...

Hmmm... After riding around on Konis for the last 3 years, I'm think of making the move to Bilsteins.
Actually, I'm being nagged to get the Bilsteins. The Mrs thinks the Koni/H&R setup is too soft.
The old banger sometimes gets called the barge, 'cause it handles like a POS.
Does anyone know where I can get some stiffer ARBs?

                          Easy now....

where did all this tension arise from a?

                          Cheers for the input guys.
I think i will still go for the bilstein option. Not sure about springs yet. Maybe standard is the way forward. but i would rather have it a little lower.

Anyway, will have another think about it.

                          Cheers.
