Gents, I have recently got a 1998 on 54k miles with full history, no issues etc but as it's 13years old which bushes would you recommend refreshing to tighten it up and improve the overall feel.
Thanks, it's a V6 by the way but I'm sure it will apply.
By the way excellent resource of info and it's my new fav forum.
A full set of quality Febi or OE rubber bushes will certainly make the car feel like new again - I did this and the car is much improved.
If you're on the road, that should suffice but for track use, you'll want to tighten things up using poly / delrin / alloy - all depends how much NVH you can tolerate...

Personally, i have Superflex wishbone and FARB bushes, new standard top mounts (some go with the blue urq ones though). About to go onto aluminium subframe mounts with 034 box, engine and diff mounts (street density). The RARB is Whiteline which comes with a set of bushes AFAIK. Rusty does an excellent snub mount.

First to get attention should be the wishbone bushes. Whilst it's true on many cars fitting poly bushes hardens things up on our cars I didn't notice any extra harshness going to poly and the car felt much better. OE rubber wishbone bushes don't last long on our cars and you can't fit new ones yourself unless you've got access to a press but you can get your old rubber ones out and fit poly bushes yourself.
Second to get attention should be the top mounts. Lots of contention on here as to which are the best. OE ones are cheap and good while they last but that won't be long.
Third might be the side diff mounts on a quatro as they take the reaction torque. OE ones are good and easy to fit.
That's where many of us would stop unless it's obvious you've got a sagging or banging engine/gearbox/diff/subframe mount.
