    hi,all

hi all, nononsence makes a good point,if you dont express a valid argument how are you going to get a good product.basically we are here to improve a very good car to start with,if it was a ford i would need something to stop corrosion,a peugeot an engine that would last,a jap car that didnt feel cheap etc.i wont slag other peoples products off,i can only recommend parts i,ve tried myself, our mounts are good i use them everyday, ive heard complaints of various chips .i can honestly say they are good, the customer is right springs to mind.i will post items that will benifit s2 owners,ie top mounts either because its a good product,or its cheaper than others, but you still have the option not to buy....read the posts/trials/tests etc before buying...buyer beware.i dont have to sell them here, but i think you should be aware of the products available...............tim

        Tim,

I guess we all welcome cost effective, innovative products that provide solutions to our problems.
In the interests of objectivity, why don't you offer to provide a set of the mounts to a "face" on the forum, who can then report back and address any issues that any prospective purchaser may have. If you have enough confidence in your product, and I don't see any reason why you shouldn't, the feedback should boost sales condiderably, outweighing the initial investment.
I would think that at the rate he is chewing them up, Lee might be a good candidate. If they can withstand the use on his car then they should be more than adequate for us mere mortals!
        Give it some thought!

just so i get it sorted in my head. this whole assembly is fixed solidly to the car, ie: if the strut weren't there the ring would secure the mount to the strut tower. the strut then pivots about the lower ball joint and the bushing in your top mounts right?

i think what people are confused about on audiworld is the part about it being solidly fixed to the body. if movment of the whole mount were allowed, i'm pretty sure this mount would make short work of the tower.

and this increase in road noise. what do you mean, just generally increased vibrations because of the lack of rubber or more thinks and clunks when hitting bumps?

thanks, getting very close to splashing out for a set!

yes thats correct the outer of the mount is secure the damper uses the rose joint to give 360degree movement.there is hardly any increase in road noise in fact its usually quieter than stock,it stops the tramlining you get on certain roads.it makes the dampers work properly....tim

                Tim,
how do think these would do on a V6 machine? I think the extra weight it what makes me destroy mine within a month during the autocross season! In a previous post, I said the blues only lasted one track event, and the greens last about a month.
I just replaced mine about 2 weeks ago and I'll be ready for something new come spring.

I have a feeling you're gonna have to ramp up production sometime in febuary when all of us stuck in the rust belt in North America start planning summer mods!

Yeah. I think Lee’s definitely the man to test these babies, in the name of science.
If they last more than a few weeks I’m having some. They ought to last decades if they survive Lees’ punishment!

                          Imsatim, question?

What tool do you use to lock down the upper ring? Also is there a hard rubber ring around the edge to cushion it aginst the surface of the tower or is it metal to metal?

PM him or email, Lee's very punctual as he runs a business and very prompt in his response.

I think Lee's the man for the job. I think he's used to examining his suspension components on a regular basis, as he really dishes out the punishment. Also with his knowledge he could give us good feedback on the product in question.

hi ,we use a c spanner like you use to adjust coil over suspension systems,we tried a rubber damping pad under the nut but it compresses and you have to keep retightening the ring.our new mounts are designed to incorperate a strut/tower brace these use a taller thread on the mount and the eyes of the brace pick up on these, incidently we are at donnington park with the audi racecar tomorrow we will take some mounts with us,its a vw audi show.......tim
