Imsatim, take a look at this. What do you think?

Guys at the AudiWorld Forum are trying to find a cheaper way to achieve
what you did with your mounts. This is what one of them came up with.
And he definitely has plans of mass selling them.Comment

Panzer,
I can verify that he is not copying a cheaper alternative to what Tim has made. That user makes tons of things for tons of cars...he used to be an engineer for a race team. He has been working on those strut tops for quite some time now and he will probably also be selling them more expensively.
I know him personally...he is one of the few you 'should' be listening to on AW. He's building a pure road racing machine...I don't think there's another 90 in america that races more than him...and I'm a close second...too much racing...to much autocrossing.

i must say he has more luck with pics than i do,cant fathom out what the pics for we all know what a goosed mount looks like, good luck to him anyway the developement is time consuming,as is the testing, anyone can make a solid mount for rally/race but to often these are to hard for the road, ours dont seem to be maybe we are just lucky,or bloody clever.............timOriginally posted by NoNonsensePanzer,

haha...Well Tim, I asked him about more info about his new mounts, and they aren't anything like yours...they use the OEM strut top but it gets re-enforced. He was working on solid mounts like yours, but again, they were very different. He hasn't even seen your mounts until just the other day.Originally posted by imsatimi must say he has more luck with pics than i do,cant fathom out what the pics for we all know what a goosed mount looks like, good luck to him anyway the developement is time consuming,as is the testing, anyone can make a solid mount for rally/race but to often these are to hard for the road, ours dont seem to be maybe we are just lucky,or bloody clever.............tim

How long has he been at it? What's his ops on Tims piece? I do know some on the Forum think Tim's part is bit expensive. But if your guy can achieve the same results at a less expensive price, who's too bitch. Good for him I say!
Hope he succeeds. And yes he is one of the more knowledgeable guys, but it's wasted on some there on that Forum. He should come over here.

Had my top mounts fitted today at QRSport (cheers Tim), plus the wishbone & subframe bushes. I never thought I could get excited over bushes and mounts, but these are just really impressive.
Steering is more responsive and "purposeful" for want of a better word. Handling is definitely improved. The drive does feel more sure-footed.
Is the ride harsher? I have noticed a slight increase in road noise (although nothing to write home about) but the ride comfort is certainly far from compromised. They don't turn the car into a boneshaker.
Big thumbs-up from me, very impressed. Great investment imo.

he started on the solid mounts about two months ago, but ran into some issues...just like Dave in Canada...if he turned lock-to-lock, it would stay turning and not release by itself. He just thought up that idea the other day about re-enforcing the stock mounts, so that kit will consist of two simply little add-ons. So far, they are holding up alright.Originally posted by panzerwagenHow long has he been at it? What's his ops on Tims piece? I do know some on the Forum think Tim's part is bit expensive.
