Avant Front Shocks

Trying to make sure I get the correct shocks for the car now.
I'm going for Bilstein B6's.

What measurement do I need to quote? The od of the shock absorber is 49mm. The od of the strut is 50mm. Can someone please advise which I should quote when ordering.

The insert don't fill the strut , but the aluminium top holding it in place is 55mm.

Well it looks like my supply of Bilsteins has unfortunately fallen through. Does anyone have any suggestions where to try for Bilstein B6's?

As an alternative, are Konis suitable for running with stock springs? If so, which model of Koni and where's the best place to get them?

Koni fronts are 86 2086SPD2 , not sure where you get them though.

The threaded top cup holding the damper in the strut, it comes with the damper. Bilstein B6/B8's are "upside-down" dampers and therefore has a thicker rod than OEM, and the OEM top don't fit.



I guess the B6 damper for a 50mm strut is the same, but with different aluminium top.

Why have the billi b6s fallen through? i thought yaz was selling them as i will shortly be getting a set for my coupe. Are they still available?
