its wont have much of a difference
the extenders are to correct to control arm angle, as the angle gets bad the more you lower it
Swapping front hubs for more caster?

Roll centre and camber gain are an effect of one another. When you change the roll centre, you change the camber gain rate on roll because the wheel is "pivoting" from a different axis. So yeah, as the above said, it's not the angle of the wishbone that actually matters but where the balljoint is.Leave a comment:

The lower arm pointing down more will not change a thing on your car. The pivot axis between the inner bush and the lower ballpoint has not changed so therefore you have made no change in your geometry.Leave a comment:

Ah yes now I think about it has no effect on roll center as the vector does not change, however it allows more camber gain in a roll as puts the lower arm pointing down and thus means it extends in the x direction as z decreasesLeave a comment:

The only thing that matters is the location of the pivot i.e. the balljoint., hence attaching the balljoint on top of the wishbone will have no effect.Rather than using ball joint extenders when I fitted the new ball joints to my car I installed the ball joint on the top the wishbone rather than under it, this moves the wish bone downwards and will adjust the roll center with out having to use a extender? Or do you need to lower the effective location of the other pivot to to adjust the roll center. Its late and I'm not 100% certain if I understand the diagrams...Leave a comment:

Well figured I'd log on for the first time in a while and found this awesome thread
I used to use ball joint extenders on my Coupe and it was one of the best handling improvements I did to the car. Used them round a few trackdays including a couple of trips to the 'Ring as well as everyday driving and never had any problems. Infact my wishbones snapped before these things gave me any trouble but that's another story....
The clearance was close though. How did you solve the clearance with the disc issue?Leave a comment:

I was asked if I have thought about modifying the bump-steer properties of the suspension, especially after installing the extenders. I actually have designed a little device to raise the inner ends of the steering rods to compensate the changed geometry with the lower balljoint extenders. It looks like this:
It bolts directly on to the OEM steering rod holding plate thing.
I could have those made, but it is quite easy to DIY if you have some basic tools. The plate thickness is 5mm and the rest of that you figure out yourself.

Yes, finally an update. I have had all kinds of trouble lately, which have kept me from working with these, but at last I had a small batch made. The popularity of these have kind of surprised me, but I still have few pairs left. If there is enough interest, I will try to have another batch made also. The price for these is now 65e/each, so 130e/pair + shipping.
These have just been tested last saturday on three different cars without problems. The CNC-machined production units have much closer tolerances than my self-made protos, so there has been no reported turning/twisting issues.

Any updates? Need 4 ASAPYes I am alive.
The extenders worked fine, but the driver's side turned in its mountings under heavy braking. I have to make the bits to prevent that from happening. Other than that, the car was really fun to drive. I didn't dare to push it into extremes as this was first "summer" trackday and first time with the extenders etc, but according to the performancebox data, I managed to get something like 1-1.1g lateral (peaking at 1,2g) with practically no understeer at all. Of course it's not only due the extenders but the other modifications as well.
According to the quotes I have received from machine shops, the pricing would be something like 250-260e/pair. So a set of four ~500e or so. That would include bolts, nuts & the possible turning prevention pieces. Quite expensive due the tough material.

Earlier machining pictures show the slot like the A4, not the groove like the stock ball joint.
If it turned on the ball joint, maybe not enough clamping pressure, can be applied.
