Do mr crossfire still make the extenders? Can you weld them? Thinking of Welding them togheter With the hubs for more rigidity, i would really like to get 2 pairs for My urquattro With s2 suspension.
Are there other ways of extending the balljoint?

Would prefer to stick with the single wishbone set up as I am trying to stay away from it being a spaceframe. Once you go down huge chassis changes it means you cant run at a lot of events. I think a properly set up macpherson strut set up can work perfectly well. Just got to look at the wrc cars for that!

Outside the box but with your skills Hamish you could tube the front end and go double wishbone? Also as you are going to be LHD you could use a conventional type rack, maybe a TT EPAS item mounted at the subframe.

Yes that will be sorted. Good to hear the caster can be done without having to cut the inner arch up.

I had expected the inner bonnet would need cut but would like to leave the outer unaltered. Good to hear that coilovers will fit in. I was looking at the inner arch wondering if it would be worth doing a bit of cutting to make even more room to go back? If you are getting 7-10 degrees of caster then that sounds about right. Anybody else have anything to add on how much caster they would run if they could?

I had to trim the bottom of the hood a lot, but it looks unaltered with the hood closed
only 2.5" coilover springs would fit that far back, not normal wide springs

I put my car into Kenneth brown motor engineers to get set up. The guy used to look after Audi rally team cars at some point. He sujested cutting an offset circle out of my top mounts and spinning them to move the struts 10mm back at the top. This was to get my car perfect for fast road use. Probably not good for track use or for you guys with mad cars n more driving skill than me!

the ones in my cq ( link in sig) are about 2" back and ~2" higher than stock 7-10 ish degrees with adjustable GC top mounts and more room for springs, dividers, helpers etc

Thought I might as well add this into here as it started off as a dicsussion about caster.

If you had a blank slate to do any work to the shell how much caster would you try to get, and how far back would that mean moving the top mount? Did the works cars have it about right or would it be best to cut the inner arch and go even further back?

I have some very low ET wheels normally, which essentially gives the same effect with the scrub radius and the feel is much better. Off course, with these extenders i'll have to find some new wheels as the two combined would be waaaaaay too very much scrub radius

But the extenders I use now are just a little too close to the brake disc for my liking so i'll be happy to swap them.
