  • Master or slave cylinder how do I know

OK so after just 3 to 4 years looks like my clutch slave cylinder has given up again but maybe is the master how do I know for sure before buying a new one and any links to part numbers would be amazing I've tried looking but I get easily confused

The master cylinder is located at brake pedal area. So have a look to see if there's any fluid escaping?

if you clamp the rubber hose on the gear box (with hose clamp)and press clutch pedal if its building pressure(get hard)the master is in good shape.

Pete at Quattro corner has them for £85 ish. I phoned him last week when I thought I needed one. Luckily, he was out of the office and not able to take my order. In the meantime, I re bled the clutch using the reverse bleed method and it sorted the issue nicely. My clutch pedal wasn't returning properly and the bite point was very low. I did look at Autodoc (no recommendation from me) and they have got a seal kit if you fancy refurbing your existing one. From my experience with them, they will probably send you the wrong kit
