Speak to CG Motorsport they will reline your old disc and reface your pressure plate and fit a new diaphragm spring.

Interestingly, after a bit more digging, and looking at the Autodoc page for this:

Note the 'Type MF240', this is what is stamped into my cover, so yes, this is the right cover for sure. Just need the friction plate, which I think is the trickier one to get hold of.

Took a while to getting around to responding properly to this, just connected some dots, hence the post now.

Ahh yes. It says it is but, is it definitely just the pressure plate? Thats the part number I ordered and have on my car, I just don't remember buying (or have receipts for) a friction disc separately!

If you got that and CG motorsports to recline your existing disc that would be you back on the road with a new oe spec clutch.

Think about a reface of the flywheel while its easy to get to... Your pics look like it's in better shape than mine was but you can't beat a nice flat flywheel to help stop judder and increase life of the friction disc.

For £97, I can only assume that it is just the cover, but you are right, that with a rebuilt friction disc and job done.

Thing is thought, CG will reline the plate for £35, and rebuild the cover for £45, and can essentially be done on a next day service(!)

Here's the links just so you know I am not lying!

Cover info above may be useful for others in future.

Check out 1862 809 001 as the sachs friction disc for the 7a coupe quattro.

It seems to be available in some places mainly Germany but, you could maybe cross reference that number with other brands you trust.

I got to that as the alternative to the high performance sachs friction disc autodoc do list for the cq20v for big money.

Nice, if those are plug and play we are safe!

I would not say so. It's a matter of months/years when it is discontinued.
And the price has doubled in an year.

Well, if people can reline the friction disc and rebuild the cover for less than £100 plus postage, I reckon that is a huge win, and cheaper than the other options.

Well. They seem to have made a mistake and sent me back a brand new clutch!

                                Before

                                And after

And I double checked, a few little marks confirmed it is my clutch!

Highly recommended. Took just over a week, door to door and cost just over £100 including postage both ways.
