Paul, at the moment ive just got the whiteline rear ARB and that got rid of loads of understeer for me, really noticable on the track the other month. Haven't got round to getting the RS2 front ARB yet.
I have another rear diff to fit, if i maybe get this done at the garage meet, then my old one will be available to whoever wants it.
Like this when you lift of trothle at entry the curve the back 1,5 way will lock and make a litle like if you pull the hand brake geting the car in an oversteer position helping you to entry the curve then comming out of the curve the front and rear will lock when you press the throtle making the front tight the curve and the back get a litle of drift (oversteer). Also help you to get all the torque of the car to the tarmac as none of the 4 wheel will spin so you come out of the curve like a rocket.
If you want to try this set up find a friend with a EVO V you will be stuck.
Specialy if wet tarmac
I have a very good friend with and EVO VI. Got the chance to drive it on track, dry road, wet road and gravel
Absolutely the best and easyiest car to control on the road. It is also very easy to put sideways and control de drift. Just turn in hard, back steps out and then full power to keep it there 4 wheel drift nirvana
On a dry track it doesn't behave so good, mainly because it is very difficult to make it brake traction so you get understeer (mild) most of the time
If you can make it behave anywhere similar to a EVO will be in for a LSD swap for S2 coupe.
Problem is you have an RS2 and rear diff is a little different from Coupe so they will be different so we need to big orders for them to make and Avant and a Coupe Version.
PS Evo V and VI in France were sold by Ralliart Spain.

AYV 3B&ABY coupe:
Diff body: 017 525 121A
Left bearing: 005 409 123
Right bearing: 016 409 123
Internal pinion set: 005 498 081
Crown&pinion: 017 525 143 F and later on 143 K
ABY/ADU avant/sedan:
Diff body: 017 525 121A
Left bearing: 005 409 123
Right bearing: 016 409 123
Internal pinion set: 016 498 081 A
Crown&pinion: 017 525 143 A
A4Q B5 1996
Diff body: 016 525 121 D
Left bearing: 113 517 185 C
Right bearing: 016 409 123
Internal pinion set: 005 498 081
Crown&pinion: 01H 525 143 (37:9 version as S2/RS2)
B4 and B5 has the long type rear diff so probably that's why crown+pinion is different. Different internal pinion sets might mean different CV flange splines (but unlikely).
HTH
I have been entertaining myself with ETKA this morning
Looking for differences between Avant and Coupe rear diffs and have these thoughts (I learn this week how a diff work so no expert )
Crown and pinion and the pinion set are different, but I think the pinion set is different as a consecuence of a different crown and pinion. The bearing to the front of the car for the crown is the same part 183 525 261 so, is/should crown and pinnion and pinnion set be interchangeble????
Housing of the differencial is the same as well as the connection left and right for the drivesaft ("eje abridado" in spanish), part numbers 017 525 281A (left) 016 409 355 (right) The connection of this parts to the rear diff is where I have found a different.
On the Coupe there are 4 parts connecting the diff to the "eje abridado" (part numbers on previous paragraph) These parts are (first number is the number inside the ETKA ilustration of the rear diff housing
18 // 017 525 400A left side
21 // 016 409 783A
20 // 017 525 715
23 // 087 409 373
While on Avant there are only 3 parts
23 // 017 525 400A left side
22 // 016 409 783A
21 // 017 525 715
Part numbers are the same so I do not understand Ben or Petri might help with this.
In ETKA illustration of the internal diff there is a part number on the Avant not finded in the Coupe
26 // 017 525 219A Is between diff body and left bearing. But because diff body and bearing are the same I think is has something to do with an improve connection and taking away part number 087 409 373 of the Coupe.
I am saying all this because maybe the same rear diff provided by Quaife or an LSD supplier might fit Avant and Coupe as this differences seem more internal improvements of the diff than any other thing
the crown and pinnion are NOT CHANGEbar they are a pair, and sells in pairs.....and the housing are different....some of the housing have the fastener arms on the side, bolted on like AEC and AEU..... the other variant are partnr 859 500 040 B for the ADV diff ,they are for URQ and have NOT bolted arms at the side..... :mischeif: the parts from this one are NOT interchangable in the other diffs .....the ADV have 3.889 too,and thats really not often you get that....and it will NOT fit in my car

I meant if you could get the Crown and pinnion and pinnions set for the Avant diff and put it inside de Coupe diff Not mix between them.
Not that anybody would do this, I was just thinking this looks more a diff upgrade than different geometry.
The outside housing is different but maybe because the cars are different sizes. Rear width (from hub to hub) is higher on avant than coupe.

Please explain more what you are saying
I ment that the stubbaxel to the propshaft from the reardiff ADV will NOT fit in the housing to the AEC housing, they have different splines inside.... that are for the short (old) diff used on A80Q/A90Q/S2Q..... i dont know when the longer diff was on(havent seen in ekta yet) the old diff are strong like "JONUS" have about 830hp on the old 136hp diff....

Ah! I understand.
So if we want to make a batch of LSD for the rear or Quaife torsen type we would need and Avant and a Coupe version?
Is there no way of getting round this?
