  • A little help with 3B gearbox/diff oil change and part no.

    Ok

Is there any how to or BTDT on the forum about changing gearbox / diff oil on the 3B?

I read somewhere that the ABY should be filled 7mm to the top.

Also what is the part no, for the gearbox drain plug and filler plug and filler plug, drain plug for the rear diff?

    Cheers

It's quite straightforward. First remove the filler caps, so you don't end up with drained box with stuck fillercaps. The caps have 17mm socket head. Then remove drain plugs, drain the box, plugs back in and fill. I don't see any harm in filling the box until the oil starts to come out from the filler hole, that's how I've done it. Used Castrol TAF-X in the box, and SAF-X in the rear diff.

          Thanks.

I'm planning to use Castrol oil.
