To fit the plate you would need to remove 10mm + the plate thickness. I originally didn't remove the 10mm from the engine part of the snub mount but everything was very tight and the littl M6/M8 bolts were being put under a bit more load than I thought a good idea.

Do you use the original snub or use the 034 snub? Any increase in vibration?

Intrigued, as my avant has the 034 snub-mount and there seemed to be a heavy amount of vibration at certain RPMs in the cabin in the short time I drove it, far too much to be a daily driver. I assumed this was the rock-hard rubber mount that was snug in it's mount transmitting vibes through the X-member, and was interested in seeing how that could be dampened whilst cruising.

This is always going to be a problem with VERY rigid engine/tranny mounts of any sort on a road car. I'm going to try some (hopefully) stiffer rubbers from other models - I hope to use the stiffest one that fits, but I don't expect any of them will be as extreme as the 034 snub which I would imagine is more suited to motorsport applications. Thats just a view - I haven't seen or handled the 034 item.

          Hi Ross,

This is good feedback. Did you also have the motorsport spec engine/gearbox mounts fitted or just the snub mount?

          Cheers,

Gearbox and engine mounts were OEM items. It's worth noting that the engine was lifted slightly to allow fitting of the GT3071 without any fouling of the turbo hotside + chassis, I also wondered if there was a possibility this could hold everything 'tight' and cause the issue. I wanted to remove the mount and test-drive to be sure that was the cause, but didn't get chance.

Let us know if you feel more vibration in the car, I'll be setting my mount up so its not in contact when cruising, only on heavy throttle or brakes. I'll go for about 10mm each side and 6mm up and forward.

No problems for me but then I do have what I assume is the original OEM mount...

I did this to my snub mount today - (didn't even need to remove the mount to do it).
It cost me exactly nowt - ok so the welding isn't great (as I was welding to aluminised steel aka 3" exhaust pipe!) and I only had danger yellow paint at work.
BUT for the sake of an hour - and no cost, it stops my engine lurching forward (as it does sometimes when doind a spirited change form 1st to 2nd).
It needs slight adjustment to get the bracket in the middle, but my question is:
It should work shouldn't it? I can't see why not and I can't see why anyone needs to do it any other (more costly) way?
Of course, i could be being a total idiot and one of you may point out a blundering oversight on my behalf! - which is why I'm asking the question!
                      Thanks fellas

Tried it, where before, engine would try to break out of the front of the car when foot came off the loud pedal quickly at 5k rpm, it now does not - so it works.
Just needs tidying up a bit
