034 Short Shift

I have just bought one from poor boy for a slight discount.
Anyway i fitted it in about 20 mins with a bit of a tweak with a dremel .
Anyway well impressed. The gear change is very positive a bit like a modern diesel.
I think though the kit would be complete with a couple of tweak.
First a spring that fits on the shoulder of the ball joint.
Second a collar that fits on the lever save you having to but the original one.
Third a new spring clip to make sure it all stays put.
In other words like the 034 kit. That way there is no cutting and it can all be put back to standard in minutes.

Hi,
I bought my short shift at DeS last week, I received it within several days ad then I installed it on my 6-speed GB following the 034 tutorial. Not always very clear and easy to understand but finally it works very nice!
Maybe just a a stiffer "push down to reverse" coil would be more appreciated than the OEM one to reuse!
That was my feedback!

In general it's a big mistake to try and rush the gear change on these cars, IMHO
Best to be mechanically sympathetic every time, or wear out the syncro's fast.

I don't need or want a short shift, just an OEM shift without excess play

Can anyone confirm this info? Mine is kinda sloppy and can get into reverse without pressing the shifter down if i press it a bit against reverse when trying to go to reverse so I want to replace it. If it causes more wear to my gearbox I will just grab a OEM..
