  • s2forum.com - Dead links

    Hi

It has been mentioned before and I guess there is some post already.

Just wondered if anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this? If it's possible.
I've been looking myself to try find a solution but I'm not that experienced with programming and vBulletin.

There's so many how to / articles and posts with a lot of good content that is difficult to find.
Usually there is "take a look here how I did it" and it's linked to the wrong post or it's dead.

Would be good if there is a solution to figure this out

And thanks for a great forum btw

    Lars,

I did manage to fix quite a few of these previously but struggled with some of them that linked to specific posts. Where they link to a thread these are fixed, I've just had a lot on with life so haven't had a chance to get back to it yet.

Yeah I had a look through at what would be needed, but didn't manage to identify the correct function to use in the new VB version. I've got quite a bit on at work atm, but will try to get back to it as I know its frustrating for members.

Hi Greg. We all appreciate what you do for us. While you are busy, I found a work around which normally finds the right page. Use a google search using "S2 forum + title of link". Normally gets you there
          Nothelle S2 Avant
          Black Ur project
          Ocianic Ur project gone
          S2 Coupe project gone
          Urs6 plus project gone

Nice google dork. If you have a few examples you can share that would help me identify what needs changing

                Specify it with:
site:s2forum.com The Topic You Are Looking For

This specify Google to only search s2forum.com , no other domains at all. If that is the choice someone wants to do.

Would love to get the links working again, I'll try some searching when I have time later on..

                  Hi Greg
I found one here. Post 4, the link takes you to the wrong thread. Just an example.

Yeah I spent a bit of time before tweaking the htaccess files. I expect there is an endpoint in VB that references back and provides the current link. This was the case for the old threads
