Wheels are subjective. If you have no need to house bigger brakes (which you should seriously consider) then the orig 5 spoke 3b wheels in as new condition are stunning. Much better than the updated ABY wheels in my opinion.
The Haynes is next to useless on the S2 as it doesn't cover the S2 wiring schematics, quattro running gear or the S2 engines. Covers some 20v parts which cross over, and some interior bits.
The forum is a better resource TBH, with many of the OEM workshop manuals in PDF form, and S2Central has all the wiring schematics.

Electric window issues : On many occasions it was a bit of corrosion in the 363 relay under the drivers side dash. I remember being told to take the relay out and tap it on the ground, and put it back. sure enough it worked for a while. I then services the relay and cured it
Use your haynes coupe for the rest thats left out.
I have been working through my elec window fault but cant get them to work (see my thread in electrics section for more details) I can only get power to them or for them to work if I operate one of the coils / mini relays inside 343
hey. so the s2 is still rough around the edges but is mot'd and is now my daily! it is a real nice experience to drive. i am not totally happy with a few things like it seems to jerk a little when i leave off to change gear, it does smell a little of petrol if i give it some beans and has a few other issues. its fast and feels solid on the road (just like a 4wd) and just has a nice presence
looking to do the usual service parts now such as drop links etc as they seem cheap enough. got bad water leaks too so starting with changing aerial base and sort them one by one
im looking a for an aby top cam pulley cover if anyone has an old one lying about please?
The most important thing to do first is let me swap my black intake pipe for you polished one it will look much better in your engine bay, that lovely shiny pipe stands out too much in yours at the moment
haha i didnt do it the lad before me did, it could do with being done again. the cam cover was polished too but its oxidised....
so i took the mrs out in it earlier and she loves it, its rapid and when it spools up it gives her tingles in the lady garden, which is nice
had trouble today though if anyone can advise? I thought i could feel my clutch pedal getting softer and the free play at the top getting more. it gave up and hit the floor and the fluid was empty. . i filled and bled it and it came nice but is ropey when i drive....it seems to get less then pump up. Fluid is dripping out by the bell housing so its a matter of time before it drops it all. is my slave cylinder leaking?
Great news, car has only been on road for 5 days and i may need to change the slave . bleeding was easy to be honest so i hope changing slave is straight forward. i have seen a guide on here too. il search for a part in the morning, any suggestions of where quality slave at reasonable price? need to do the belt and water pump too.
Im looking forward to getting vagcom too so i can have a rummage around the ecu see if theres any fault codes or similar.
Slave is £100 from Audi £30 from ECP I thought I'd save a few quid and went for the ECP one after trying to get it to fit for two hrs realised the casting was not right took it back and bought the Audi one which is what I should of done straight off
Any parts like this I would go Audi even though they are ripping us off at least it's gonna be right
