Ill be the judge of that when I hammer the **** out of it down the road when I pop up lol .
Well now I have got the waves of work out the way I managed to do some stuff on my own car again... I have been driving around with half an exhaust for a month!
I have now managed to finish the exhaust. It's still loud but acceptable to me as its a toy.
As far as the running is concerned it was great for a few days and then it was down on boost again.
So after one evening until the early hours myself and Nemo did some boost leak testing it was found to hold great up to about 1.2 bar but above this it developed a leak from the intercooler cross member to inlet pipe.
So this was fixed and the boost was increased to 1.4 bar and there was the strangest noise I have heard from the engine bay of an S2!!!
As my partner described it was like a wookie being raped.... Lol
I gave up again at this point and made do for several weeks.
However tonight I have found it
Took off the wastgate and the wastgate piston valve guides must be non existent there is nearly 10mm of lateral play in the valve.
This will explain why sometimes it would seat and be great and others it was a piece of rubbish.
Anyway on with a spare wastgate and out for a test....
I am now pleased to report it's a constant 1.6 bar tailing off to 1.2 at red line.
Performance again is greatly improved but now I'm getting clutch slip
Wheels look great, but we need a video of the exhaust
I have no friends to film it
And I don't want to be one of these sad folks you see on YouTube propping the camera up, pressing record, scuttling off to the car, on the first start up the camera falls over and that's as much as you see until you hear footsteps running back to retrieve said camera
