Forum pole "Cоrey Jоnes. Love or loathe?"

Threads like this discussing a business and its dealings with customers is one thing. Creating a pole targeting one individual with the options "Love or Loathe" is far from acceptable IMO.

And to think the low life who created that pole was a forum moderator, very disappointing

totally agree with mcandmar. this site has taken a massive nose dive for me. im not a big poster on the forums but have always found the whole community to be the most helpful and some of the most dignified but now i'm just disappointed.

          well

I for one, believe in the best in all people and, i believe all will go well.
If one believes all will go well, it will... if you believe that it will go wrong, it will.
Neo this will sort out, no probs, i have paid 833pounds for parts and i am waiting, and i know it will come, but there is lots to do, and it is xmas soon.. So the world is on full throttle ahead, everyone has there hands full. Lets all settle down and think positive thoughts..

seeking help yes. having an opinion yes but love or loathe no.

i take it this person has been struck off as a mod?

thats pure baiting of an argument and a direct personal attack on a person. id be knocking on doors after that.

to sum up the work is very good, the delays are not and the comms are not. id expect anybosy who has good work done will soon forget about the delays anyway.

The person that started that poll was NOT a moderator. But regardless of that it was a foolish idea. The matter is being dealt with.

I hate the way this forum has become such a bitching ground when people have issues with suppliers and service providers. This is not the place. I've met the guy in question here maybe once or twice and he seemed sound enough to me. I hear 1st hand stories of positive experiences with him, and of course these bad ones on the 'net. In the real world of business its just about impossible to please everyone and sometimes things go wrong. Life happens.

Please keep the tempers cool here and remember these small companies like Quattronics, MRC, VAGparts and anyone else in a similar position has an immense problem of keeping up with communications during busy times. Do they ever have a quiet period ? And its not just a matter of taking on cheap extra staff to man the phone and the computer - they have to be skilled and experienced enough to add value to the customer. The cost of keeping that person is often not achievable in a small business.

I'm sitting on the fence with this one - I don't know all the facts - lets just make sure this thread stays balanced and doesn't descend into a slagging match.

They are as busy as ever, they have my car over a year, (Daisfunky), but I am content with that, I'm "investing" well into 5 figures sterling on mechanicals via Quattronics (Neo).
If you're trying to make a point, it's not a strong one. As you say, you are "investing" in your car and I presume that your S2 is not your Main Driving Veichle that you NEED to use on a day to day basis. *pointed look at screen*

You all know Ross' situation, there was a deadline, it was supposed to be quick, it was supposed to be ready for the Audi day back in the Summer...QUITE different to your situation.

You know, I think if you are not bothered about when you get your car back and want a skilled mechanic to build your turbo, stregthen the car and boost it's performance Corey is your man!

That's the raw fact really. He's a niche in the market and that can be great for many customers.

However, if you want something done well and done FAST, you want to either do it yourself or go to your local garage.

                All the best.

i have been self employed for the last 9 yrs,i never take on more work than i can handle and always make sure jobs are completed to over exceed the customers requirements,i always have a steady stream of work although balancing bigger jobs is never easy mainly due to space, sounds as though he needs to clear his backlog of work before taking on anymore though or tempers will get frayed....

I have never used Corey and never will, not because of what I have heard and what has been said but because I have a top notch firm to do all my work. My observations and questions here are just as an interested outsider.
Saying that, I am glad I won't need to use Quattronics as I have seen their handywork first hand, and wasn't impressed.

MAY? To do what? You could build an entire S2 from parts in that time!

It has been mentioned that "Corey" has too much work on to deal with his work properly. Corey, from what I gather is the owner of "Quattronics", do Quattronics only have one employee (Corey) working on cars, or does he have mechanics/technicians working for him?

Has anyone actually gone down to see him or the company? Talking face to face usually solves things one way or another.:mischeif:

TO COREY: You don't seem to be defending yourself on here with explanations in order to put peoples mind at rest, or at least to give some explanation. Issues have no become public on this and other forums and there is little you can do about it, once something is out in the public you have to work extra hard to rebuild a reputation.
THIS doesn't help your case much.

Don't forget, one person will tell an average of 7 people about a single bad experience with a business, as opposed to those who are happy with business, they will on average, tell one person.

This needs to be resolved one way or another. I've heard the war drums begining to sounded and the village folk are taking up their pitchforks. I reckon this will come to a rather abrupt head quite soon.

so delays shouldn't be a surprise......

having been involved in a similar environment, I know how chaotic the smaller workshops can be.....so let anyone with an issue take it up with the party directly..

good luck to all parties and lets keep this type of "witch-hunt" out of the forum...

just my 2 cents.....which is now worth under 1p!!!!....

                          WTF?

Anyone would think I was the one doing the personal slagging off here.

When a member uses the terms such as 'us' and 'we' to describe themselves on the forum, I think you can assume they are not posting as an individual but as a representative of their company. This IMHO makes this member different to most others here. So was it targeting an individual? I think not.

The thread was posted in an attempt to direct people away from the type of bitching shown in this thread and others before it, and give the members who wished to comment another way of representing their feelings. AFAIK I did not target anyone in a biased way, nor did I give my opinion and nor did I vote in the poll in question.
As I have said before, I have never dealt with the member and/or company in question, so have no problems to report.

As for the reference to a good intentioned (yet possibly slightly foolish) member as a ‘low-life’, one can take that personally.

As I pointed out at the beginning of this thread, the problems that exist are not new ones. So bear that in mind if you are considering dealing with him/them.

I stand corrected; i can’t see any way to create a poll so i assumed only mods were able to. Regardless of who created it and who it was targeted towards its not appropriate IMO.

Stand corrected or apologising to the mods and admins?

4WD attempt was to clear the air redirect an issue from the thread.

Granted the poll was in hindsight was not the most subtle idea but it was an attempt to gain genuine opinion and not the he say she say rubbish that is floating around.

I want to add something. I have never dealt with corey so i cannot make any comments on how he runs his business. After reading a few posts in this thread, it sounds like some people have been put off buying 034 products through Corey.

The 034 product is fantastic and I have purchased many of them myself. If you dont wish to buy via Corey, you can always buy direct (maybe at a slightly higher price).

Im not trying to take anything away from Corey here, just dont want a great company like 034 not getting some trade due to a few customers bad experiences with Corey.
