I'm glad you've got the pic from the Western RR day. The color of my RS2 is Midnight Purple, a bit hard to capture accurately in photos, but it has a deep purple hue.

How times have changed for the Avants.

Something like 1800 built new, with 320ish UK cars according to the electronic web thingy.

Looks like we’re down to 30ish road legal and circa 90 SORN.



I'm guessing -
a) most road legal cars and owners are here on this fine forum and
b) making this list now would be a lot easier….

RS2 (Avant, obviously), circa 2,900, UK 180

Today's data (well, Q4 2024).
S2 Avants circa 30 licenced and 90 SORN

Probably worth noting that some of the SORN'd cars will have been only taxed in the warmer months i.e. Q2 & Q3

In other news, a topic on one of the 80 owners facebook pages suggested that there were between 17-20 RHD V6 quattro avants ever made, making my car even rarer than the s2, even if it does have the inferior engine

To be fair, you’ve done a grand job of keeping the runners going and the rarity up Sal, and I’m clearly one of those beneficiaries over the years with the rally rep.
