Big grommet at or near where the steering colum goes thru bulkhead ?

Had that on an A4 once, but I noticed the extra road noise before the draught.

I was in a hurry messing around with my new Dag Dag last weekend and trying to sort some electrical gremlins before going to the airport when I borrowed the fuse puller (Dag Dag one missing ) and a fuse.

I remember thinking "I must remember to put the fuse box lid back on properly".....

I was sooo totally confused as to how a perfectly good car could suddenly spring such a massive air leak into the cabin....

            Pure muppetry

            Cheers,

            Steve.

Just be thankful it wasn't raining

Muppetry happens to the best of us - we are but human after all...

There's my famous rear brake bleeding incident and putting wishbones on back to front which testify to that recently. Oh and countless other 'senior moments' I'm sure.

I did think about the consequences of it raining inside my fuse box!

I did this once on my 10v 2.3 coupe, it ran like an absolute dog after it rained! found the cover loose and put it back and after a week of head scratchin in the garage it was back to normal! Took me ages to figure it out though

I had this on my clunker too Steve, last winter. (Fuse cover loose)

Worst thing was, I had driven to my dads and parked on the sloping drive.
Tried to start the car the next morning and it was flat.
Put the battery on charge and noticed that the lights were on so I checked all the switches but they were off.
I finally found that water had worked its way into the fuse box and shorted out some cables/relays.
1/2 an hour later with a heat gun and all was well.

The moral of my little tale.......Always check the fuse cover is fitted properly.
