[QUOTE=andy10v;684279]DC2s all have front a LSD as standard, both UK and JDM.

If you buy a B16/18 swapped EG you want an LSD, having driven both there is no comparison. The open diff just lights up one tyre, the LSD is great coming out of corners.

Yup hondas are very JDM YO! And a lot have been poorly modded/ragged. Rear arches are the first thing I would look at on the body of EG/EG/DC2, they are often rusty/filled/painted over.

The ITR forum is quite good, some of the honda forums are like vwvortex or worse!
    http://www.itr-dc2.com/forum/index.php[/QUOTE

    Thanks for the info

Is there an integra type r pre DC2? I've seen some 1996 and on model year cars without the twin small lights at the front, just rectangular ones, is that still a DC2?

Have opened up a whole new world of jargon.... Its likes starting all over again when i bought the quattro 6 years ago!

Bug eye are UK (also rear fog light, normal plate)

JDM are the other lights, no fog (normally a little hanging one for the UK on imports), Square rear plate

I cant remember all the differences, it was a couple of mates that had EGs, DC2, CRXs etc. I just used to fix them/help mod etc.

I owned two CR-X's when i was young and foolish, would still love to have one now

They are made of biscuit tin metal. I had a very close call in one late at night, flat out through a downhill right hand turn and found the road was re-surfaced with a 2 inch layer of gravel on top. Instant oversteer, inside front wheel on the grass, grabbed half of turn of opposite lock and floored it to pull it back inline, wiped sweat off my forehead. Only when i went back and looked at the corner i noticed my tyre mark where it left the grass was 12 inches from a lamp post. Thats how close i came to lights out, would have been instant. Thing that scared me the most was i never seen the lampost untl i went back. CQ20v felt like driving a tank after that car, and slow as hell. Over twice the weight but with the same power. Built like a tank though.

the cheaper s2000's go not much more then 3-4k in the UK, correct?

My daily is an AP1 S2000. Just with Eibach springs it does a trackday without a sweat, giving e36/e46 M3's a tough day.

Can't recommend it enough. It now has 266000km and still runs ultra smooth, no rattles or clunks, stiff chassis, super sharp handling, and most of all the most reliable car I've had. I just warm it up very respectfull, and oilchange + OEM filter every 6k. Feels like it will keep going forever

For trackdays the basis is almost perfect. Totally different ballgame then a boxster, z3, 350z, tt, etc...

Maybe the reality is it will sit around doing nothing! But I really want to do some trackdays and have some fun.

Only place I've actually been is the Nurburgring, but Brands in 45 mins away.
200bhp from a 2.0 Golf will take a bit of work for sure!

Sounds good! I've been looking at these, although I've heard the handling is very twitchy??

I also once sat in one and my eyes seemed to be in line with the top of the windscreen! (I'm 5ft 11)

Do you think it can be fitted with rollover protection?

Golf wise, two of those golfs claim 200 bhp from the ABF, perhaps it's closer to 170? Still not bad if it weighs just under 900kg....

I can feel the money burning a hole in my pocket, need to be carefull not to impulse buy! Think its a good time of year to buy though.

Search for a guy called GVK off clubgti. I think he go about 186bhp out of one but stock cams will see 170ish. They are good allrounders, as there's plenty of torque from about 3500 and thye pull to 7k or so. 900kg is realistic, perhaps less for an early one!

my thoughts are mk2 golf with 2 litre Will achieve about 170. the great thing about the golf is superb power to weight and the very predictable handling.
I've driven a Honda s2000 and found it had to be driven hard and twitched lot.
the Honda civic type r mk1 i absolutely loved i imagine good fun on track straight out of box .

The handling is a point of discussion. I find it a predictable car which clearly lets it know when oversteer is getting there. I find it quite easy to drift and take high speed neutral steering corners... real perfect balance. That reputation came because of people driving them like a fwd loonatic. And that coupled with the very direct steering could make for some wild action. If you know how to handle them they are very fast.

I'm 1.88m and fit just right in it. If I'd were any bigger I'd modify my seatframe (like many have done) to sit a bit lower. Around 1" can be gained that way.

They certainly can be fitted with a cage, seen that before.

Well, I took the plunge and bought this:

Really pleased with it, I think it was a bargain at £1500!

It has Gaz Gold Adjsutable Coilovers, Whiteline ARB, Solid Top Mounts and lots of other bits listed in the ads. Nearly all of this was done in the past 2 years.

Coilovers are 1K new, and £800 or so worth of exhaust.

Only really needs a few little bits sorted, and some fresh tyres. Maybe some seats too.

Had a absolute nightmare trip into London and then dagenham and back to chelmsford today.

Only downside is that its a CAT D. This shows as August this year, and was supposedly that a rear bumper was not available..... I looked under it a lot, and test drove and to bes honest I really couldnt find fault.

Feels lively, but you have to adapt and wring it's neck all the time

Yes, I allready want throttle bodies, but that'd be 2.5K on a 1.5K car! Mostly for the sound and throttle response, also about 25-30bhp more with aftermarker ECU.

Apparantly there are some cams that can give a 15bhp or so increase. Still sounds a bit pricey for the moment.

I drove over to a friends last night and felt like a 17 year old joyrider, thrashing the **** out of it and just looking for the nearest ditch!
