Hi chaps, as some of you may or may not know I host regular Wednesday Audi night garage meets and have done for the past 6 years or so.
They are usually a bunch of 5 to 10 of us that generally chat and hang out doing things on what ever car needs attention.

However there is now only one 10v Audi owner in the area and he desperately wants to go the route of 20vt however funds won't allow.

So another of the local lads has set up a Facebook group asking if anyone is willing to donate parts towards the building of said engine or even small donations towards buying some of the more expensive items and machining work.

The aim is to get something built in time to swap the engine at Christmas 2014 just as a good will gesture to the lad so he can keep up with the rest of us

If you feel like you are able to assist in any way possible that would be great....

I have a spare exhaust manifold, possibly a spare stock turbo, but I might have robbed some fittings from it if thats any use?

Not being a cynic and I am sure you are doing a very noble thing and hey lets all club together type of thing but what singles this guy out? is he a prominent forum member?
What about the next guy, and the next guy etc. etc....
He is lucky he has a car, some of us have had to work hard to put 4 wheels in front of the house, after many years of not having one due to circumstances beyond control... who helped me?
You say he doesn't have funds? does he smoke? drink excessively etc??? priorities in life? maybe there is nothing wrong with a 10v?
What happens when the car is modified? will there then be a thread asking for insurance contributions?

With regards to the Nominee, I have no answers whatsoever to give a reason as to why he is more deserving than the next man.

We are just a large group of friends that are all very passionate about Audi's.

Nic is not as financially comfortable as the others in our group of friends so we have decided to club together just for the sheer kindness with no expect of a payback or anything in return.

We have extended the question of good nature to the wider audience of the forum as there are many people that have upgraded their cars and sometimes just bin the standard items etc.

No one is being forced into assisting in the quest but if you can thank you very much

Afterall it's not about being noble it's just what good friends do!!!
