So every bolt or stud out bar one, the one directly under the wastegate mounting part, and it's rounded . Ficking great !! Jeez, anyone any good ideas as access is a tad tight and turbo still on .
Sod's law! Do you have a pic, can't imagine which one you're describing?
Weld a nut onto it is the best option normaly. The heat tends to break the corrosion and the nut lets you wind it out. Welder, plently of patience and adequate space required!

Yes a ring spanner or open ended will go on but the 12mm nut on the stud is rounded , so access is no go as the manifold fouls anything yiu try and get on the nut, was thinking weld another nut on the stud but not sure I can get the mig up there ... It's a poss ... But a flank drive spanner might bite enough to get a turn on it ...
I'd try a cold chisel. If you can get to the nut and use a hammer and chisel in that space, you will move it eventually. Dig the chisel into the edge and tap it in the direction you want it to move. If you can get an oxy acetylene flame on it beforehand that would really help get it moving.
I use a self adjusting spanner when I find rounded fittings. May be able to get a small one in there. If you can get the turbo off you'll have better view
Strip off more bits to give you much more / needed access to "expose" the nut.
I do appreciate it is a pita to have to do this - i.e. to take of the oil filter housing, engine mount and water cooler pipe, but it may help you get a vice gripes onto the nut. Big or small - try both.
Both are handy to have in your toolbox.
As mentioned, the application of heat to the nut may help to crack the 'join' between the nut and the stud.
I feel your grief as we've all btdt. You will feel pleased when you get the better of the nut though.
Yeh it's a pain, thought I was gonna be lucky and get all 16 off ! This one was the last one I tried !! Cause of where it's situated. Oh well. I've a new set of studs as I'm putting an RS2 on so guess I'll be taking more bits off to get a bit of space , ...
