Ok... just read this thread and now a little concerned. I put an order in for all the hoses which cost £410 pounds. I'll not be happy if the darn things don't fit.
i had probs with fitting my maf to turbo hose aswell. Had to cut down (a lot) the part that connects to the turbo in order to bodge everything to fit. I wasn't going to mention it as i couldnt be bothered with the hassle. mine all fits now but im still worried about clearances etc, its all very tight. not impressed with samco.
SFS water hoses were great fit.
Pearl white 91-S2-3B K&N cone air filter - Home made induction pipe work - 18" RS4 replica alloys - Yokohama Parada Spec 2 rubber - Colour coded body work - Bilstein/H&R suspension - s/s 3in turbo back Longlife exhaust - SFS water hoses - Samco boost hoses - RS2 FARB - RS2 eyeballs - Squeaky interior trim & 2 bar!

Can someone reassure me please.
Chris
They can be made to fit....just cut that Dump Valve pipe down to the length of the OEM one shown above.....
though Im not sure how well it will fit due to the slight shortness at the MAF end allegedly.
Though several people have got these on their cars so it is nothing to worry about too much. Just shouldnt HAVE to make any adjustments or cuts to the hoses at all. For that price they should just fit
The silicon material is so much thicker than the original rubber pipe that there is bound to be a clearance problem, mine is now fitted as I said but yes, I am worried about clearance.. It should be possible to come up with a new pipe with the DV takeoff rotated round a little to miss the IC. Or a way of fitting the ABY MAF hose.. I've asked Paul to be included in the next ABY Samco group buy for just this hose and I will fit it to the 3B and post my findings.
Thanks for more pics on this... I'll be speaking to the man from samco right after the holiday weekend to see where it went wrong.
This *might* delay the MAF hose for the 3B kits that have just been ordered - it does not jeopardise the entire turbo kit. Clearly some mistakes have been made.
Has as been pointed out already, the much higher rigidity of the flourosilicone hose only serves to make clearance matters worse in tight areas.
Also remember that all these hoses are hand made (between the thighs of Welsh virgins I'm told) and they often leave hose connections, joints and take-off points with extra material. This means the joints often have to be shortened. A quick study of how short the 'neck' on the factory MAF hose where it connects to the turbo inlet is a perfect example... Its barely wider than a hose clamp, but the Samco items never get built that tight. Some trimming can be expected... BUT clearly that isn't going to solve this problem in a hurry.
Paul, what's the situation for us guys with kits that are still sitting around waiting to be fitted?
My full set of boost hoses is in the hallway but evidently it looks as though I will need a corrected replacement. Not long to go before I (finally!) get the other engine in.
(BTW is there a corrected water hose coming for me too? Haven't seen one yet!!)

It's not better than sex, but it runs it a close second.
Sadly you will need to wait for the 3B MAF hose to be fixed. Seem to recall you were going to be trimming amd modding yours anyway for a different turbo.
I shall get the new 'fat link' water hose in the post to you. Totally forgot about that one - Sorry.
unfair question to ask Paul but do you have any idea what sort of timescale we are looking at for the 3B hoses ? I'm running with a boost leak and I'm having to let all the boy racers blow past me
Well - everything was on track for 15th May - delivery to me... But this knocks back the 3B Boost kits by a week or few. If you are desperate, then I can get the other hoses to you... Its accepted practice to fit the MAF hose last anyway.
How about us the ordered the hoses a while back, think it was the first GB of the 3b samco kit. I never got my turbo-maf hose to fit, any chance of a getting another one and how much would i have to pay?
The root cause of the problem on the most recent batch of 3B hoses is that they used the wrong tool !
I'll follow up with all concerned to swap these MAF hoses over. I should have a modified 3B MAF hose with me very soon that AndyP (or whoever) can test fit. Then I'll commit numbers to correct things for those who have the wrong one.
