Hi Gav, i'm more than willing to try for you mate. Do you know what kit you have, i.e. V1 or V3 etc? Also, would it be too much trouble to take a pic of the brass collar insert and PM it to me?

Once you send me this info, then i'll contact KW for you

    Many thanks

Well there has been an update from KW tech dept who have said that there isn't much difference between the S2 Avant and RS2 suspension in terms of physical appearance, however:
Firstly, the reason there are two different part numbers is because the RS2 kits weren't available until much after the S2 kits were released due to the requirement of further research and development.

Secondly, the RS2 kit takes slightly lighter weight on the rear axle compared to the S2 Avant, so the spring rates are different at the rear slightly.

Thirdly, RS2 kits only come in M14 strut bolt sizes (1 part number) and the S2 Avant has either M12 or M14 strut bolt sizes (2 part numbers).

So to summarise, the RS2 kits cost slightly more than S2 Avant as the rear axle weights are different and more in-depth R&D was required prior to manufacture.

I hope this answers your questions, but please do not hesitate to let me know otherwise.

    Many thanks

Quite a bit of discussion over the years about the OE and HnR Avant vs. RS2 suspension, so will be interesting what KW say. OE RS2 springs are the same as Avant aircon springs and IIRC, the HnR TÜV papers indicate that the springs are the same but are a different colour.

Right, due to popular demand and the fact that its made me curious too, I have put the question the KW UK who will liaise with the tech dept in Germany and get back to me in due course.
I will endeavour to update all once the relevant info has been passed to me!

    Many thanks

This applies for the V1's as well as V3's.

Let me know if you need any further clarification on that info as I can contact KW directly with the question.

There is a member on here 'SE_30' who has the same vehicle with S2 setup and all being well he's going for V3's, might be worth asking him soon

Hi Tom, yes your Coupe is listed and it's the same part numbers as the early S2's (89Q) prices are £890.00 mate!
Just need to know the weight over front axle and whether your strut bolts are M12 or M14.
Let me know if you have any further queries mate.

    Many thanks

He means you can use the Audi S2 KW kit with 3B 12mm bolts instead of the later 14mm bolts of the ABY
