I've been following this for some time and I'm interested, but I still don't understand the purpose of it. It removes the need for a catch-can? Or is it supposed to work in conjunction with one? Maybe I'll be interested in purchasing one if I understand the purpose of it.

The OEM part is literally a cup with a sheet of metal in the centre of it. It really does not "baffle" like more modern VAG engines. Also when it needs to be replaced , you pretty much damage the part. My solution will allow 1 fixed piece to be installed and the 2nd component can be removed/reinstalled for servicing at any time without damaging any components
it is designed to be used with either a catch can or the OEM hoses.

Recenetly finished up the Crankcase breather unit for the TDI's


Also revised the assembly to be a little cheaper to machine. Will get this going shortly as well. Need to finalize a quote for laser cutting the baffles from SS.

Tell me more about these, I currently run a 2.5tdi I5 and I need a breather as one I took of a non turbo 4 cylinder Peugeot just ends up pressurising the crank case it plugged in

If you put '054103129 photo' into Google, it will display a load of photos, the early ones in the array of photos, show both sides of the oem piece and also photos show where it is located on the I5 block. In behind the after-run pump towards the flywheel area.

Another shows the hole it is mounted into on a used block.
