I've bought a set of the heater elements for the seats new from the stealers, price not actually too bad. Base heater came with 2 wires and backrest came with 4 wires taped together in 2 lots of 2. Does anyone know which wire goes to which pin number in the seat plug, I bought new seat plug which has space for the 6 wires

Any help would be appreciated on this as its the last part of the jigsaw, Paul J
    Hi All
Eventually got round to fitting the heated seat loom to my rs2, For anyone considering this on an rs2 there are some slight differences in the wiring. Bought a set of elements from the stealers, still available and about £140 a set. Went to fit them to the seats and found that both seats already had the elements fitted and tested out ok. Easy way to tell is to raise the seat base as high as it will go and look underneath for a green plug with 6 pins in it or tilt seat forward and look for a wire at the plastic trim on each side of the seat between the seat back and the base. I got my loom from Joe in th US. It looks the same as the ones in the previous posts except the plugs are grey. There are no spaces to clip the relays onto the aux fuse or relay carrier but there is space to jut trap them up there. The small yellow and black wire noted by others as the illumination supply is more than that. I found that if you don't connect it to a suitable supply nothing will work. There is no big yellow connector to simply connect it to but there is a spare terminal on the bottom of the fuse board to connect it to. The earth terminal is a pita to reach, other than that all seems to be ok and working fine so at least I'll have a warn **** this winter

Thanks to all who have helped me with the questions

    Cheers Paul J

I need a loom.. ideally genuine RS2 if there's differences, I want it to be plug 'n' play. Thanks for the heads up. Doing my head in now that I didn't pull the one from my old Avant before I sold it

Not sure what car the one I used came from but it was no hassle to fit. Genuine rs2 ones are going to be very rare. There seems to be 2 types, one with separate relays and the other with the relays as part of the switches. The one I used had separate relays. Did you check whether your seats have the heaters built in ?

Yep, the seats are factory heated seats - just need the loom and switches, may have a plan already though

The bit that confuses me is that if you connect it upto the big yellow plug for the illumination (only on S2) as described and you need 12V on this wire to make the seats work the you need your lights on to make the heated seats work. The black/ yellow wire goes to 2 terminals on each of the switches so it does more than the illumination
