Yeah I was considering removing them.
How did you remove them? Did you use force to brake them off or it is possible to remove them in a nother way?

In regards to the bleeding proces, perhaps I was a little unspecific. I wanted to in which order you bleed a 996 caliper, since it has to bleeding valves.

      Cheers
      outside first then inside one.
You bleed the furthest one away from the hard line/flexi first then the nearest- the same as the order for a full brake bleed furthest away from the master cylinder first-closest last.

Old topic, but I didn't want to start a new one if not necessary. I'm replacing my brake parts, bought exactly the new yellowstuff DP41514 and zimmermann 323MM S8 brake disks as I had originally. However, the damping plates just won't fit anymore (porsche part 996.351.088.02). My plan is now to drive without them for the near future, and once all is a bit worn, mount them again if I notice anything off while braking. Can anyone confirm this is OK? Thanks,

They are only there to prevent brake squeal. I ran my Rs2 without for a while with no problems other than low speed squeal. Design911 sell replacements cheaper than Porsche.
