as a long time fan of the S2, i must say that hands down your avant is the nicest i have ever seen. its the color of the paint that takes me.... the rest of the car is clean, lean, and very mean. keep up the great work pal.

                Appreciate the the comments guys!

Finally got around to some more around the project again.
I must say due to the engine have been away for almost 2 years now, im going one of these days to pick it up and do the rest myself, if I ever shall get a ready car, and not loosing the interest completly.

Anyway, Got the wagner IM today, finished the car underneath, 034 High output coils on the way, and complete new s8 rear brakes along with all new rs4 8 pots in the front. Now its only the engine left.

Still a little unsure of what turbo - cam combo to go for. Playing with the idea of changing the 3076 for something else.

Random pic of today: Paint sample

Thanks for quick service on the IM carsten
And thanks to Ben for great service on the brakes

New front and rear brakes are always nice to have. I think it will be more subtle with black calipers than the old reds, and not least more efficient brakes!. Great to have all things in the suspension new and shiney.
I only need to sort out disks and custom brakets for the front calipers, then it should be only the engine left, which most likley will be finished when I arrive back from Afghanistan again.

looks like mapping may be done this fall, or atleast I sure hope so!

                  the rears:

the fronts, pluss 034MS HO coils and a new starter:

                    Nice brake collection.
It's a shame I couldn't assist in the parts delivery in the end. I would've liked to have seen this car in the flesh.

Error404: Thanks mate! The gearbox is restored, and colors have been freshen up. Its a shame it is behind all those panels beneath the car so you cant really see it, unless its jacked up. It eases my mind to have a cleaner gearbox and drivetrain on the car tho

3b_aby: mucho gracias! sadly they weigh a little more than the porsches', but the heavier braking is needed for the car to be used properly on a track

You won't have any worries with the brakes on track. Even with excessive heavy braking you will struggle to get them to fade. Mine have been spot on since fitment. Only thing is the 300mm rears will look small, I had to go up to 330mm to make them look right

I'm still amazed how fast they got there. 22hours 20minutes from signing out here in Coventry to being signed for at yours in Norway. It takes longer to ship a parcel inside the UK!!

I'm thinking about going again in February. I've been going to Norway most years since 1991, but never in the winter.

Blimey, that's fast. I think it would've beaten us driving there. We could've had a Top Gear style race.
I don't think anything will beat my Wagner Tuning special delivery service for speed. It's not the cheapest service though.

I belive the brakes are more than enough for me as I have not driven the car in years, so I need to learn driving it all over again. I never had any parcels from Englad that quick before, and there has been some boxes shipped over the years. Great service Ben. And dont tempt me with the 330mm rears. This damn thing isnt anything else than a money pit!

Let me know in february then! If not mistaken there is this annual vw-audi frozen lake meet, just over the swedish border that Im thinking of going on. If we time it right its a option to go there. Lots of insane quattros, snow and ice (beer & women too). Very skandinavian -ish

Just finished with some vacation now, and been a feew days down at the shop doing as much as I can without the bottom end beeing fully balanced as I lack the singlemass FW and clutch to get that story finished. Then its all build up and get it in the car.

I really cant decide on the head, so I think I will try out with the hydraulic lightlifters, as I dont want to rev as high, keeping the original revlimiter, and I dont want any more tikking than orginal, and maybe changing to hydraulic on a late occation. The Dyno will tell if its any good or not I belive.

It takes some time to do all stuff yourself, and as my old engine was coverd in oil and grease all over, cleaning them and get hold of new bolts is a pita, but it's ok as long as I am happy with it in the end. It comming along now, and its great to finally see the parts assembled together.

Got the rear brakes on finally (the rest is a little dusty..):

Dont mind the rusty wheelbolts I cant get enough of the this pic. If they only were real.. ah, that would have been perfect :

Water manifold - old but roughly washed:

the same water manifold - glass blasted, new paint, new sensors, bolts and o-rings just like all the other bits engine bits:

All the new engine parts sored only the awaiting SM flywheel and clutch for balancing :

I am aiming for startup christmas 2009

Ps, I have a brand new IN BOX wrapped in plastic dualmass sachs race engineering organic clutch and pressureplate for sale or swap. Handling 520nm from factory, but handles atleast 600nm. Price is £ 550,-

Pic of it, anyone interested? Pm me
