I do log on at work - it's not the browsing, it's the resulting packages arriving at the door that are the problem!

                Nice collection you have there.
My GF actively encourages me to buy bits for the S2, I'm not sure which is worse.

Finally got some Yoko Paradas on the new BBS rims - the wheels look smaller now they are on the car, they are 15" honest!

Kind of a retro racer look, I think they need to grow on me...

Nice sticky rubber though, looking forward to the next trackday!

Yes, I know the paint needs some Fatty / Coxy style lovin' - I'll get there I promise!

A revelation to drive, it's like a chuffing go-kart after the fat A4 quattro. The Eibach / Bilstein combo and full Magnex (including 4-branch) help too! :mischeif:
VERY nice motor!! There aren't many left in that condition, especially with the drivers seat like that!!
                        .
Just make sure that the engine mounts are up to scratch (particularly the gearbox rear and front mount, they are fluid filled and if theres a sticky goo by them they are foooked!!) or they will snap the 4 branch in no time (esp. on a track day!!)

GSF do G60 ones for reasonable money..much better(even with a standard manifold and system).

                        Enjoy.

Wheels look too small and spoil the car, they would look far far far better on a MK1...........................................mine !!

Thanks for the info - I'll prolly do just that (engine mounts that is!)

As for the wheels, if they don't grow on me I may be taking offers during show season...:mischeif:

Breaking news - the Golf is a clunker after all!

The engine has let go on the way to work today - sounded like at least one big-end bearing had gone, luckily the little ****** got me into work, by me keeping the revs above 2k for the last 500 yards around the M62 j28 roundabout (painful).

I guess the only solution is to blueprint / balance & rebore...

                                Hi,
that looks a smart little example. I have a white 1986 MK2 Valver with the eibach springs and bilstein shocks. Handles really nice. I got a fourbranch on too.

She is my daily driver till my ABY converted CQ is finished

I had exactly the same thing happen to me, bought it and on the same day a big end gave up, scrapped the crank.

                                WORD OF WISDOM.
I got hold of a 2.0 6a (or ACE) engine from an audi 80 sport/coupe, and then completely rebuilt it. They drop straight in, and when combined with the 1.8 KR cams (already in your golf) and a tidy engine setup from Stealth Racing. You can be looking at the funny side of 170bhp, and VERY drivable.

My car runs 165bhp with the same spec. But mine has the earlier 42mm inlet manifold hense the 165. Yours could get 170bhp with your later 50mm inlet manifold.

VAG engine mounts will not cut it for the four branch. Speak to 'dUff' on Clubgti. He can supply your with a solid alloy front engine mount for about £30. Should sort it!

Need any advice give me a shout!!
