Isnt there a big plug by the firewall thats separate the harnesses to some engine sensors Maybe water penetration or similar in this

I might be wrong. I am not too familiar with the ADU wiring...

This have the symtoms of hall sensor failure, however the engine shouldn't die if G40 fails, but keep running until it is stopped... (but not able to restart)

    From S2central.net:

If G40 fails, the engine cannot be restarted (as the ECU needs a reference firing point for #1).

However, if G40 fails while the engine is running, it will continue to run by deriving the firing points from signals received from G4 and G28. In addition, the ECU will retard the ignition by 6 degrees as a safety measure.

      hei

Det er nok med at pinnen er litt böyd da faar ecuen feil signal.
Eller om sensoren er for langt fra 0,5mm om jeg ikke husker feil

Øystein (Breitling) just told me that the car died while driving, and that would indicate something else than G40 failure. Apparently, the ECU won't communicate with VAG-COM anymore either, so this is sort of a mystery
Timing or speed sensors might cause this as well.

          Hi

have you checked the fuses in the front of the fuse compartment(there are some standing alone in the front 90° to the normal fuses)?
is there any voltage on the injection valves?
          have you tried another ecu?

              -Changed fuelfilter
-Checked fuelpump (theres fuelpressure to the injectors)
-Checked plugs (no spark AT ALL)
-Changed the coilpack (no spark AT ALL)
-Changed firing modules, both of the POS (no spark AT ALL)
              -Changed ECU/ 2 different ones - one ADU,one ABY(no spark AT ALL)
-Changed Sensor on the camshaft (no spark AT ALL)
-Changed timing/speed sensor on the flywheel(no spark AT ALL)
-Checked ALL fuses in the engine compartment
              -Checked fuel relee.
-Checked trigger pin on flywheel is still there. Also replaced the sensors.
-Checked Switch. Changed with a new one.

The distance of the trigger pin should be 12mm not 0,5mm.

Timing belt cant change itself during driving if its proper thightened(and it was) so thats not the problem. And the speed was 25 km/h when it stopped. Theres is voltage to the injectors. The problem is NO SPARK. Today i have ohmed all the pins to the ecu - everything was ok. No pins have been pushed in, no bad contact. Something is joking me.... Maybe it has to go up in flames.. Im buying a Yaris.

Vag com tells me G28 Speed sensor, but thats normal. It also says G40 Hall sender, but i have replaced it with a working one. Still no spark.

The G40 code comes up after you clear codes and try and start again?

The wiring for the hall sender can get worn under the plastic trim beside the injectors ..would take off trim and check there is no bare wires

I have had to wrap mine as they were worn through

Checked. No bare wires. The vag com program didnt work anymore. I was only able to find the faults and clear them 1 time. But it didnt start..The hall sender i tried comes from a working RS2. Maybe i should try with a 3rd one.

Its got to be a hidden immobiliser, or a bad reconnection of a long since removed immobiliser.
Try tracing each ignition wire from switch to ecu, ecu to pos. Checking for continuaty.

                                what

i said about timing, ofcourse it does not change itself, but the little "kil" on the crankshaft wheel can brake, and still not bend any valves BTDT. Just trying to help, and if this car is 95/96mod it has a factory imobilizer
