i said about timing, ofcourse it does not change itself, but the little "kil" on the crankshaft wheel can brake, and still not bend any valves BTDT. Just trying to help, and if this car is 95/96mod it has a factory imobilizer
Urquattro island: Im happy for all help John I checked the "kil" and its there.
GT500: Yes it has a immobilizer. Havent checked this one. But all signals down to the ecu stick seems to be ok. But what does the immobilizer do? Cut power to coilpack and injectors or only coil pack?
Does Vag-Com not recognise the car at all? I had a similar issue with my S3... It turned out to be a fuse on the top of the battery which didnt look blown but was! I know the S2/RS2 has a completely different setup but is ther the correct power at the 2x2 connector? Have you tried simple things like removing all the fuses and making sure they are not corroded? I have had this issue on my S2 avent a couple of times which cleaning all the fuses and some WD40 has cured.
Like has been previously said, if the cam position sensor is gone it is unlikely that the car would die, it would not start or loose power under load above around 4K... What about a knock sensor?
Madpugger: Ive checked all the fuses and reles. Removed them and installed them.
Vag com is on and of. I have no clue why..
Knightrider: Wouldnt the warninglamp for immobilizer flash in the dash if it was damaged? Anyway, im gonna bypass it tomorrow and see how it works.
A friend of mine is comming by tomorrow morning with his blue "vagbox", hopefully it will tell us something. I also got a 3rd hallsender(g40) that i have to try.
The weird thing is that we were out driving (about 4-5km) when the car died out on us. And there were no spark since, not even a slightly caugh..
Also the car had an empty battery before taking that drive, thinking that it might be an immobilizer problem, but we did delete that theory as we had been for a little drive.
Or else the car wouldt had started and run properly.
Hope it will be healthy soon, as I want more rides in it!
Totally awesome Rs2 (when working)
yes they are catched. I think one of them has a chair with alu wheels now
The wheel in the front of the engine has a little tap. This one is broken.. so i have to change the cambelt and the wheel together with the 450 nm bolt. It was not much out of position, but enough to give wrong signals to the G40 hall sender.
Ordered the parts today. So i think im up and running on mon/tuesday
Magarv: im missing the ring and eifel rally this summer
Looks like i need to take the cylinderhead of and inspect the valves. Bafhh...
When the cams are at open point and the camshaft at tdc its ok. But i cant turn it around one full round. Maybe a valve is banging on a piston..Time will show.
Maybe il just rip the hole thing out and rebuild it to a 2,5 l with lots of nm.
10 intake valves need to be replaced.Together with all the gaskets, 12 bolts etc etc. I really want to change the k27 turbo with a Turbonetics super 50 while everything is apart for little extra boost Or maybe i just put in this little MF*****CIMG2004.jpg
naah...thats for the Urquattro
When the engine is up and running a 4 wheel alignment is needed after changing the coilovers. Stay tuned for a little movie
Car and engine is up and running again Didnt like all the noise from the 034 engine mounts so i think they have to come off again. It wasnt so much noise and vibrations on my other rs2..
Its also time for a brakepad change. Anyone have the part nr for Porsche GT3 disc and pads?
