interesting to know about the other one, is fast car magazine still in publication? I heard max power died the death the other month but saw it for sale the other day
Fast Car still in publication, saw the latest issue in Longlife the other day, Max power has been 'suspended' by the parent company.
The chavs obviously have problems reading!!
Remember the thundersaloons from back in the day always liked the stars 'n' stripes Manta, BIG pontiac V8, epic noise!!
Project thunder, your right, ran the manta 400 race spec engine. the body was actually moulds taken from a dimma 309. then the arch was cut up the centre and pulled out, patched and reworked. was actually a bit in awe when i got them and realised just wide my road going version was going to be!!!!!
Ill have a dig around and see what i can find, i know where the moulds are if theyre of intrest to you. (or do i revisit project thunder..........)

weirdly in that pic it doersnt look THAT wide but its mental wide!!! it was very much when fastcar was about racing and souped up street cars, not the whole street scene. Ricky was the cash behind the build and wansted to see a slick road version. Id just completed this (see pics ) and set off to build my own Thunder, then **** hit fan and that was that

They are definitely the ugly duckling, I'm hoping the performance will overcome its looks though lol
I'm doing Combe in April, will probably do Sneterton or Rockingham before then as a bit of a shakedown and see if I can actually pedal the damn thing round a circuit.
Until I'm confident with it I won't be doing passenger rides though
It's a shame the Mk2 had to go, but needs must and all that.
I think most on this forum are petrolheads so no need to ever apologise for interesting engine/car builds.
Good luck and post some detailed pics asap
Cheers
