Audi A8 - 20VT - 520HP

Hey guys,

Haven't been on here for a while, since I have been car-less, but I just picked up a 1996 Audi A8 with a RS2 engine. It's built by Jonus (famous Audi builder) in 2009.

It's fully built and is capable of 800HP on E85. I wanted this as a daily drivable car, so boost has been set to 1.8 Bar, where it produced 520HP/650NM (Engine HP) on 98 Octane (Dynapack). It runs on a safe A/F ratio and safe timing (Autronic SM4).

I will post the dyno sheet later, but here are some pics that the previous owner took.

I have removed the RS8/R5 badges, and it's now badge-less, making it a bit more of a sleeper. It also helps with the cops/road authorities as it looks "mysterious" now

It sounds AMAZING, it has a raspy exhaust note (gotta love the I5 engine), with lots of turbo noise. It doesn't run a BOV, so it sounds like a rally car when you let off the throttle

Thanks I'm not running a BOV, so the turbo surges when I let off the throttle. Very cool sound compared to a BOV.

I've seen this car as a Jonus project car on Gatebil.. A shame he didn't finish it.
You'd have to love the space in the engine bay with the D2 chassis...

It's a finished car. He made a thread with this car and the V8TT. He is still working on the V8TT. This one is complete

Does it still have the OE interior or fully stripped that out? i have to adjust my mindset a bit around a A8 with RS2 engine, but now I think about it it would be an awesome combo if you ask me

Yupp. Full interior. It's a daily driver, so all the comforts are there, including the BOSE system The only thing I am missing is the AC. This was taken out during the build.

This car will see 99% of it's use on the streets, so I don't see any reason to strip anything. Think of it as a big RS4 (with more power, and better sound) :mischeif:

There are some cons with this setup compared to other A8s, it's got a bit harsher ride because of the coil overs (but it's not bad), and you get some sounds in the cabin since the engine/gear box mounts are aluminium or metal.

I'll get some video guys. Sorry for not having any now, I should of done it a long time ago. I'll see if I can get some footage on Sunday and upload it ASAP.
