It's the CQ ratio'd 016 box which isn't brilliant for motorway work, but is absolutely brilliant for thick mud and shale.... It's just torque and boost all the way...

In all seriousness, I'm ashamed to say, it did take a right old pounding, if I'd driven that at 35 in our Land Rover, I'd have been cringing, in the RallyRep I was nudging 70 in places and that's just plain mad on road tyres over 'trench warfare' size ruts...
The old girl's back into the workshop for a pressurewash and 'check-over' either tomorrow or, more likely, Wednesday... But I'm pretty sure it's fine from my inspection on Sunday morning...
Gawd, they're tough.

The basic set-up's quite simple really, it's a standard Spink fried AAN/K24 set-up with cone filter, bigger intercooler, recirculating dump valve, hybrid AAN/WR downpipe onto 3" exhaust etc. Uprated WR flywheel and clutch, CQ016 'box Purpose built Rad, 14" kenlowe fan, modified PAS system etc. Uprated (standard diameter) brakes, 195/55/15's and a rollcaged, but otherwise pretty much empty shell to drag about. It'll do for a bit....
The idea wasn't for 'ultimate power' so much as usable power with good traction. When it runs on surfaces like on Saturday, it'll need to be usable, progressive, tractable and strong, rather than 'violent'. Obviously, it was also built with a budget in mind, (which fell apart about a month ago!), but the (nearly) finished result is very, very, very, VERY, entertaining... Love it.

If you get an appetite for a bit of extra oomph, let me know
I'd be willing to part with an upgrade at parts cost basically, as long as you keep the pics coming.
Btw, have you thought about recording in car?
I recently got this camera, and it works fairly well for what it costs: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:IT
Not sure if there is any use in recording without a gyro off-tarmac though.
Took some photos of the old girl today, these were for the full suite of Insurance ratings, after the photos I took it for a bit of WOT action, and have pulled a muscle in my neck... Seriously...
