I did mine 3" from turbo to driveshaft and then bolted on a 2.75" Jetex back box, sounds great, not too loud, but it's still tight getting it over the driveshaft

    Cheers dude

I think so buddy, turbo back me thinks, not sure where its going to exit but I'm going for a single silencer and see what its like, I would like a full 3" system like the A4 as it sounds the nuts on boost and like a big *** machine gun when it hits the limiter . I have read its challenging getting a 3" tube passed the rear diff / drive shaft on the coupe's?

    Great work

Are you going to make an exhaust for the S2 like your A4?

Quick update, I know we all like pic's

I've had a tidy up and unearthed the engine stand so thought I might as well put it to some use.

Attempt number 6 of fartin about with the bracket managed to line everything up and bolt it to the block, happy days. These 5 pots are massive compared to the 1.8T motors and I can tell its alot heavier. Drive way oil slick

With the motor taken care of I parked her up in the corner of the garage until I decide whats happening with it and turned my hands on the continued strip down of the shell. The wiring had to go so I started there, I had to remove alot of stuff anyway to get it all out, so all the reservoirs & ABS module are out, one wing is off and finally all the wiring is out Gave the engine bay the first degrease to get rid of the worst of it, lots to clean!

    Before

    After

Next brake lines & bits. Fuel lines then steering out and I have an empty engine bay then just a few bits and I have a bare shell ready for the spit.

garage is also getting there now, its such a hodge podge of free cabinets, draws etc makes me laugh! I'm northern we'll have owt for nowt!

Re the wing, There is a small torx bolt holding it on just above the sill behind the lower trim. (well thats the way it was on the avant)

All I can say is WOW. You are tearing through it like nobodys business.

right - take loom inside into the car, lot easier that way.
check behind the trim at the bottom of the wings there is 2x screws hidden by the black trim also there is a bolt inside the wing at the back and a screw at the top each side then just sealer most likely.
    good progress mate

I'm stuck! still wrenching under the floodlights.

Is it easier to pull the looms through the bulkhead into the cabin or out of the cabin into the engine bay?

I'm also trying to get the wings off, I've got all the bolts loose / out but it seems stuck to the cill!?! is it just seam sealer?

    Boosh!

She fought me all the way, I won in the end though!

Think I need to spend some time tidying up the garage and unearth the engine stand........

Im gonna order one of those "spits" so I will spend my time getting everything off the shell ready, back's killing me already and for that money who could say no!
