Okay then. Never heard of a cracked steering rack. Only cracked steering rack mounts.

    Carry on.

These brackets are spot welded to the body at both ends of the steering rack. There can be fatigue cracking in the brackets or the body. There are new brackets available as:

4A1-809-321A Updated Right side Steering Rack Bracket

443-809-489 Updated Left Side Steering Rack Bracket

Either will give it for repairs or get a new one. It made cracking noises when turning the wheels.

Nothing is missing. They are not noticable in the pic.

The exhaust was completely burnt up. And intake doesn't cost that much to leave it hanging. If a rebuild, then a full rebuild.

Finally got them. I was thinking that it would an impossible task...

The head has also been skimmed and pressure tested. All good. I still need the lifters and cam chain, but at least now I can move on with the head build.
