just got of the phone with him, and rephrased the question again. Again he told me that #12 is enough because its mostly air that runs through it and a bit of oil. However, the thing with my drysump setup is that the oil slowly runs from the tank to the sump over the days. The after startup the pump pumps solid oil over 4 stages with #12 fittings into one #12 hose. So thats the only point where it can get messy, but he said not to worrie to much about it. The pump will be posted today so i'll be lying behind the door to catch it.Leave a comment:

Thats good news in such.
Jeffry thats quite impressive since you have the same pump as me but a 5 stage. Did he say why you are okay with a -12 feed and supply?

Correct Hamish. I wil indeed place the filter between pump and engine.Leave a comment:

So you had the main oil filter on the return line? I take it you are on -12 line at the moment Jeffry?
Are you going to move the filter to just before the oil goes into the engine after the pump? That way if the pump gets damaged the filter can catch any debris before it gets into the engine.Leave a comment:

Problem is found. Took the engine apart yesterday to check bearings. No real damamge there. Then went to the oilpump. Took it apart and found scorchings on the inside. So phoned the manufacturer to ask what went wrong. Immediatly he pointed out that that kind of wear means there is a restriction on the return line. i.e a filter? So schoolboy error from my side
Anyways, a new pump is on it's way. So should be back on track pretty soon.
Also asked him about line sizes recommended. #12 on the return is not a problem. So all good there.Leave a comment:

It sure is scared of boost... And yes it's a fight alright. The gloves are off now!
Jamo, i'll check the compensation on the voltage.
With the 44mm WG boost went pretty high.
Thanks guys. Next week i know more on the issue.Leave a comment:

Oops, that is bad news Jeffry. Let's hope the engine damage is not there and you can clean the oil circuit.

maybe.....but this housing is just soooo big that it would need oneway or another a lot of gas to get even to 1 bar.
I hope he gets it sorted out soon to see what this puppy is capable of!
BTW, great looking car....Color is carbon steel metallic (i think i asked again)?Leave a comment:

I would imagine a 44mm wastegate would struggle to keep the Gt42 under 2 bar. Seeing as Jeffry has had it mapped at 1bar I guess he would like the option to run low boost.Leave a comment:

I hope you get everything sorted out.
Why was the 44mm WG too small. Most of the time you need a big WG when you want to run low boost and your turbine side is too restrictive and that way you want a big exit in order to keep the backpressure down.
With your massive turbo I would assume that you can get away even with the stock wastegate.Leave a comment:

Hi Jeffer, what are your injector settings in VEMS? It maybe that your Injector Voltage Compensation is too low, for my Bosch EV14 I had to increase it from the the default 544us to 608 usLeave a comment:

Bloody hell Jeffry its fighting you all the way at the moment!
Strange to hear that the big bosch injectors might be effected by a small voltage drop but when you fitted other injectors they were fine? Did you get a chance to see if the RS2 alternator had solved the problem?
As for the oil filter going bang that sounds a bit strange? Do you have the oil filter plumbed in on the return line? I have put mine on the pressure side after the pump so its as close to the entry to the engine as possible.
Hope you get everything sorted out. The new engine build will be quite something with the spec you were telling me about a while ago!Leave a comment:
so im guessing you will be on the dyno again soon
