Finally I cracked the 1K HP mark with the Sport Quattro
1005 HP with GT4202R @ 3bar. Video and dynoplot can been seen on my site: www.highoctane.nl

The engine is rebult now, I built a full 4" alloy exhaust. That brought the engine to live actually. Very happy with the result. Next up is drag racing for sub 10 seconds.

    Cheers!

I see you still got that wonderful 500hp/1000rpm kick from before nice result looking forward to seeing it with a clutch solution.

Thanks guys. I'm not driving it at the road. Snow and road salt are not my best friends...

The engine didnt break down. The race last year on bitburg went fine. However The engine did started to sound less smooth. So I opened it up after the race, checked and replaced the bearings whithout succes. It still sounded not as smooth. So I pulled the pistons and started measuring. Over the 8 years lifespan of this engine the pistons were worn out. To much clearance piston to wall. That was the reason to do a new rebuild. Still 8 years of use and abuse starting with 500+ HP and ending on 900 HP is still impressive in my book.
Also I did look after the engine with enough bearing replacements and oil changes.

Now it has new JE's with thermal coating and thicker wristpins. Balaned bored and honed.

Bigger hotside, and thats the change to last years dynorun.

Here some pics. The actual TQ curve on the car is different that we see on this sheet. We controlled the boost on spoolup to save the clutch. In the previous run, the boost came in pretty violent, and short after that the clutch slipped. So to be able to make one more testrun on the dyno we gradually raised the boost. and not even to the target boost yet. Also the revs are very conservative because the engine is brand new and still in a breakin. Just to be sure not to wreck it

Also alternator issues above 8K rpm with fluctuating voltages. And the 3rd issue is the backpressur post turbo. I swapped to a bigger hotside. there was no difference in backpressure in the EM. So next small jog is to make a full 4: exhaust to use the full potential of this turbo.

Let me dust off this thread
Last weekend I had the car on the dyno again. I did a fresh engine rebuild with new pistons. The engine was pretty used.
It made 924 HP on the hubdyno. Sadly this was the maximum for the clutch. There is still more to be gained in power. And maybe...maybe it can hit 1k HP. At least thats what I hope

Where did you get the c-pillar sheetmetal from, or did i got it all wrong? Im currently building an urquattro, but i want to build än s1 with the right windscreen angle when the urq is done. The brake callipers on your firewall, where did you get them and how are they attached to the brake pedal?
