    I haven't done them all yet, but I guess that Pisobiker should be my mentor, when modifying the block. Anyway I have one question;
I have an extra oil return line in the block, but I don't understand why I must plug it with a frost plug? The head should do a good job plugging that return line by it self, since it doesn't have a return line in that area. Hmmm...

Take a look at the lowest of the two pictures in reply no 42. The tdi gasket shows the position of the oil return line, and as you can see there is no corresponding hole in the 20V head. In my opinion the none existing hole should prevent a leak as good as anything.

But does the 20V head gasket cover the hole? If I remember right it doesn't.

I don't use the 20V gasket, I use the tdi gasket. And the tdi gasket is designed for that block. The gasket doesn't cover the hole, but it should seal around the hole when I tighten the head bolts don't you think? Just like it seals around the combustion chambers.

            Cheers

Hi, does the 158 mm rods fit well in the Diesel Block???

I think i am going for the 158mm with 23mm Wrist pin?? Do you think i will have a problem with these rod on a Stroker like Pisobikers?

Sten Parner suggested on an old email i send him to use the 155mm 20 pin Rods with the sandard pistons! Is it better than the other option!

                    Thanks a lot!

158 con rods with dieselcranc will have some file and struggle in the lower sylinderwalls......eurospec have another cranc, think it have 92,8 stroke then it will fit in.

whats happened to the s2 volvo?

I want to do this the other way around, fit the volvo t5 engine into an audi.
which if any audi box fits the volvo petrol engine or is it adaptor plate time.
im not worried about mountings and wiring as much as fitting to the box, will be in an old coupe quattro so i need to use that box.
I may buy a damaged engine from a breakers to trial fit if i cant get any help here.

The Volvo IL5 won't fit the Audi gearbox without an adapter. I use the Volvo V70tdi-gearbox in my project as it has the right pattern to fit the Audi engine.

Nowadays I'm gapping my piston rings, cleaning the engine one final time, painting the engine block with black engine enamel and do the rest of the assembling job.

Is it possible to put a volvo il5 cyl head on a audi il s2 block?
Has the volvo the same cyl spaceing?
Has the volvo a better cyl head( the exh valve has angle between vertical?, more squish are?)

                              Thanks for the info!
