I have a prototype EGT module for the TDS-1 in my car at the moment, but it's not quite finished. I need to get a better probe; the one I am using grounds the probe tip to the downpipe, which seems to introduce an offset voltage. I haven't had time to work on that in a few months.

The software currently supports switchable units between kPa/PSI and Celsius/Fahrenheit. Only kPa absolute though; if you want relative boost it's only in PSIG.

I think your knock indication function would be better served by a big, bright LED or array of LEDs.

The MAP signal wire is definitely an issue. Are you certain that it is not populated in the ECU harness? If that is the case, the cheapest way to get around that would be to open up the ECU and solder a wire to the signal inside. Not elegant, and no doubt most people wouldn't feel comfortable doing that. Better would be adding that contact to the ECU harness. I don't know how feasible that is.

Finding a good absolute pressure sensor in the correct range (>=3 bar, <<100 bar) is not that easy, and I would need to calibrate the TDS-1 for a new transducer. Calibrating for the Bosch (and VMAP) transducers was one of the most tedious parts of this project. An external VMAP would of course work.

As to cost, well... even with the weak dollar it's a lot more than 30 pounds, the figure mentioned earlier in this thread. At the moment it's moot anyway, since I sold the last one I have in stock.

Darn I was in Boston just over a week ago, on my way back from skiing at Sunday River.

Time for me to fess up a little bit, I'm a project manager for an automotive software and electronics company, whilst we might charge an arm and a leg for this, I can probably find some manufacturers if we had the schematics and BOM.

Let me know if I can help

        hey guys

        take a look:

as you can see it is possible. a german guy built this. for a longer time i´ve talked to him and i can tell you how it works:

obviously you need another pressure hose. this you can take at the ecu. the hose goes to a box which is fitted behind the tachometer. in this box there is a pressure-sensor and a platine. My electrical knowledge is too small to tell you something about the platine but as you can see at the top it works perfectly. out of the box there comes a cable which is connected to the Autocheck in order to give the signals to the ac.

the guy named "Axel" needs for this the AC in order to change that one and some money for making the electrical platines. but as you can see it looks very fine. this picture was taken from the first version now the software is changed and better. You are having with this changing of the AC also other possibilities. For example a guy here has after starting the engine on the autocheck displayed "Hello Tom". i was really astonished and surprised at the moment i´ve seen that .

a further positive aspect is the fact that all normal warnings (low oil pressure and all the other warnings) have a bigger priority than the boost pressure. Means that these warnings are immediately displayed on the Autocheck.

        nice evening

Excellent - that is just where you need it too!
This is certainly worth following up - cheer for the info Wolfgang.

after starting the engine on the autocheck displayed "Hello Tom".

Been away for a while and I seem to have missed so much.

I have only come on to check this thread and to say that I am very busy at the moment and do not have time to progress this project. I am aiming to play with this and to develope my own system but in the long term. I suggest to those who showed interest in the idea to scope out the TDI-1 system as I don't think my system will be availalble for several months.

I will keep you all informed.

was the idea behind this post a pipedream. Would be well interested in this if anyone can knock one up!

Came in Contact with the Guy who made these displays for th eAuto check! Is shows boost realtime and then holds max and min for some seconds!

                  Really nice!

He sells it with 2 Sensors one for the boost and one for the enviroment pressure (mountains ect) so all the time it shows the right Boost!

He makes the changes in the Board computer himsefl! So the BC must be sen to Him.

Problem is he does not make it professionaly so he doesnt have allways time and mood for something like this.

In some next versions it will be with EGT and double intake air temperature and the old one will be upgradeable!

Any more news on this project..? It sounded like one of the most useful S2 mods.
