My friend Andreas (member on this forum BTW) followed me to our garage and he took some pictures of the upgrades that I've fitted so far this year:

    Enjoy!

Those recaros are truly mint condition. Can't believe how good they look.

Putting the valves , spring and retainers into the head.
Putting the head on the block ,torque it down, measure all the oil + water lines for the turbo. Assemble the engine to the car, connect all connectors, lines + hoses and so on, weld a new front engine mount (034 type) to the crossover. Add all fluids. Charge the battery and connect it :-) Turn the key and hope that the car doesn't burn up.

Will probably go with a VAG Com diagnostic first considering almost every connector has been disconnected this Winter.

About a weeks work if everything proceeds as planned. Depends on my health, have some sort of virus in the system now so I'm not feeling all to well. Otherwise I would've done it alot faster.. Last time it took me 48 hrs from when I assembled the block and turned the key and fired up the engine.. (+ I had a day job between 09-18) But I don't want to make any mistakes now.. No rush, the winter is still here so there's plenty of time

Yeah take your time. It took me and my dad a few hours to find the right place for all of the connectors after the engine had been taken out.

Yeah, i've come to the conclusion that you only can misfit 2 or 3 connectors.
Will replace all the vaccuum lines too, the ones that are on the car now have seen their time.. Only have power steering fluid and glycol (???) left on the purchasing list from VAG. Feels like I've spent a fortune there, the tranny rebuild cost £375 just in parts. And that was far from beeing the biggest expense..

Still haven't received the head nor the cams, the cams seem to be somewhere between Finland and Sweden..

This years most interesting upgrade, interesting to see how much this does.

Tonight I'm putting in the engine, another S2 clutch change came in between, yesterday erixon took the tranny down so I can work on my own car for a change

Still haven't received the cams though, but the head is fitted on the engine. So I'll just put the cams on later.

Prosty looks very good, love the "Adolf" badge.

Where did you get the inlet pipe made up that runs to the throttle body??

terrybullwon: I made it myself , its stainless steel. I can make one for you , about £100-110 + postage. And I'll make it shine just like on the picture

It looks awesome. That is the first one I've made (made a few more now), so the welds are not 100% , but on the new ones I've tig welded, so they look much better now than the one on the picture above. Can make with different flanges for BOV and so on. I had to make one since I'm going with 2 BOV's on the cold side of the IC.

The ADOLF badge is from CADDY and GOLF

They really laughed @ the VAG dealer when I said what I was going to do with both those badges

Are you using any "exotic" parts in the head? Or all stock other than cams? (like, springs + retainers)

Will be interested to see how the porting has improved things too, as I'm considering some port matching if I can justify the cost...

Hello, I'm using stock internals in the head. This is good for up to 600 hp. After that you need to improve them some. Bought 20 new lifters for this year. They were a bit worn the ones that I had...

Will be difficult saying how much this will affect the car since I'm upgrading turbo, cams and the head at the same time..

The cost for restoring a head and porting + machine job for the valves is £890 (In Sweden).

20 minutes of work and it's there. The 034 engine mounts had a perfect fit. The engine WILL NOT BUDGE when I tried to move it.. And ppl call me the little hulk.. Even though I always look like Bruce Banner.
