Thats jogged a happy memory, i bought mine back in 86/87 when i owned TPB 132X Cortina 2.0 Ghia Mk5. Think it used to measure 1% from memory and found it to be pretty accurate at least good enough. I'll be dammed if i know where it is now? Looking good that measurement - good luck for the mot.
Got my old trusty gunston gas tester out. I must have had this for over 35 years. Almost as old as the Ur. It's not super accurate but gives a good indication.
Anyway, well pleased with the result.
Seems high for todays standards but amazingly the limit for this car is 4.5!
A few more things still to sort but she's mot ready.

I still have my Gunson Colourtune and Strobe. From my M2 Cortina days I reckon! The strobe is really basic, IIRC it just fires a red neon straight from the spark.

So my digi dash is very dim. It flashes bright when you switch off the ignition and also when you press the clock button. Shining a bright torch into the light sensor makes no difference. The dimmer dial works only on the lights on the mile counter. I have been told this is probably my dimmer as there are two inside the switch on the Ur.
But it tested good.
A chat with Pete Knight suggested he needs to see the cluster. However, I'm no 13 in the queue. Cry.
Anyone have a spare cluster. Cheeky grin.

It's nice. It's boosting properly now as well. But the empty light came on just before home and I put four gallons of super in!
No more projects for a while. I want to finish the TQS and service all the other cars in the household that have been waiting patiently for the lift.
This one will be up for sale soon once I've sorted a couple of small niggles.Nothelle S2 Avant

They do get through the jungle juice and it's a big tank, probably £100 quid to fill it these days I reckon.. not too bad on a run though, when we used to go to Chamonix in mine I think we only stopped once for fuel on the way.Comment

The electric window was a nice easy fix. I tested the motor was working from the wire that goes through the door pillar. There is a handy plug there and using my power probe I was able to operate the window fine.
So, onto the switch.
You can get to them easily by removing the ashtray (John).
I had a spare switch (as you do) so swapped it over. Still nothing. Then, looking at the plug, I could see one empty terminal. A quick hunt behind and there was the wire! Placed back in the plug and it's working perfectly.
Now. I noticed a small oil drip (red) under the car. On examination, it looks like my previously fixed pressure switch under the bomb is weeping. I've ordered a new one from Germany. I wish I'd just got the new one before as it's a buggy to get to.
