Looking good! Well done regarding the headlining, I have this job to do on my Coupe at some point in the future....

Thanks, i also need to do my Coupe soon. The job itself of re covering on the Coupe looks easier but removal from the car looks slightly trickier than the Avant.

Fun day out in both S2s today. They are RS2 spec running TS chips, the Coupe has slightly better bolt ons. Side to side the Coupe edges it but not by much. It has a quicker spool and more torque.
The Avant has a ABY intercooler, RS2 exhaust manifold, Nothelle ported head and a 2.75" stainless system with sports cats and 2 boxes.
The Coupe has RS2 intercooler, Wagner evo manifold, RS2 airbox and a 3" stainless system with decat and 1 box.

I think Coupe is slightly lighter than the Avant which may explain. Also, the EM makes a difference. It's a known restriction. Hasn't the Nothelle got a special EM? Or did Newsh put an Rs2 one on it? I can't remember now. Whatever, it's a lovely car.

Yes i think the slight difference in weight is enough for the Coupe to edge it.
The Nothelle manifold is no longer on there, not sure if Newsh removed it or a owner before him.
Do the Nothelle manifolds perform better than the RS2 ones ?

The Nothelle EM wasn't as good as the RS2 and was a welded together mix of different materials and prone to cracking. I have one here. The best flowing EM I am aware of is the Wagner.

The documents from Scotts shows that these wheels were fitted when the Nothelle conversion was done, it was only right that i bought a set.

I think most of the nothelles had those wheels. The 3b nothelle coupe that i owned had the 17inch avantgardes

From the Audi Driver magazines I have read, only about 7 Avants were done and even fewer Coupes. I was not aware that any 3b had been done from factory order. However, you could take a used car to Scotts and pay for the Nothelle conversion to your own spec. Of course, this applies to UK cars and possibly many more were done in Germany on lhd cars
