Unfortunately, that isn't available as a separate part. I think your best bet is getting one from either a breaker or maybe get one or two machined to spec.

Decided to start tackling the tailgate. This is gonna suck....

    20241202_171721.jpg

I have encountered as issue though and i am wondering if you guys can identify a part. A screw holding the bump stop into the hatch snapped in the threaded insert into the gate.

Anyone know if there's a replacement and where to get it??

Why are little furry animals attracted to wiring after my car a
Was stored for many years we found a family of mice had found their way into the airbox and chewed the air filter and made it into a lovely comfy nest

Well, slow progress but still progress. Rear bumper surround in primer. Lower part has been painted a satin black. Got a big run in the primer i'll need to sort tomorrow though. Then on to the rear bumper itself.

After the rear bumper, i'll get the front sorted just to get it off the floor and then it'll be the most difficult of all, the rear hatch. Supporting it and NOT breaking the glass while working on it is sure to be fun to sort out. Goal is to have the rear end assembled in primer by christmas. Doors and fenders should be a breeze in comparison.

Bonkers day at work today so only got a few mins in the garage. Got the rear bumper surround on the sawhorses and i guess fabrication isn't quite finished yet!

on the bright side, this means my new favourite tool, the hot stapler, comes out. However i need to buy a new knockoff dremel before i can do the work because a damn mouse got into the tool chest and had a meal....

I guess that is what you get livin in the woods....

Couldn't sleep so went n got work done.... took a few iterations but i think i got it for the most part. I have some sanding marks to deal with in the arch but i'll get the right putty in the spring. In the meantime i need to sort some sawhorses i guess to support all the panels i now need to work on

One last thing i will need to make is some form of cover for the now non existant rear seats. The nice thing i learned though is that the battery will fit nicely below the lwvel of the trunk floor. So i can make a box to fit on the seat base and have a nice flat floor as well as easily place the battery.

So, bow the shell is tucked away and i will slowly add primed parts over the course of the winter and by the spring it SHOULD be ready for paint....in whatever colour that ends up being lol.....

Day one of filler done. When i say day, i mean about 90mins total as due to temperatures, it takes an age for the filler to cure. My heater is doing the best it can but i suppose i am getting close to the end of the weather window. I must say i am surprised how well the arch is coming out, only about 2" where the edge is washed out. Very coarse sanding (40 grit) at the moment as i get the shape. Hopefully by the end of the week i can prime the shell once and for all.

Back from vacation and to stave off jetjag, swapped uprights on the front knuckles, that looks to fit much better, thanks!

If i have energy tomorrow, i think i will look into applying filler (finally!)

My finances are truely screwed from a vacation in the states when CAD is truely hitting the crapper, but i HAVE located a pair of mk2 golf recaros locally. It's been 15 years or more and at least 30lbs since i have sat in them but maybe a better solution than the mk3 seats....

Did i get any filler on the shell??? OF COURSE NOT!!!! LOL

That said, dhl showed up today with the reat of the front braking parts. I think i've got it....

314mm rotors and from an a6 and carriers from a tt massaged a teeny bit to clear and ate 57mm calipers from the b5 i pillaged last winter. One washer that i will get a bit more concealed about and i'm good to go.

S2 hubs pressed into freshly painted knuckles and calipers serviced and painted. The rest of the front brakes arrive later next week. Before i bring the shell back inside, i may clean up and paint the rear calipers and carriers just so they are done and outta the way. Using por15 as this isn't my racecar, i don't think they're going to get all that hot.....
