I had the same problem with a slave from eurocarparts lucky to get an original from TPS but that was a few years ago now

The OE wastegate gaskets were ridiculously expensive so we dd a group buy on here many years ago and got a load of cheaper but still high quality gaskets made up.
I have a couple in my massive stash of parts, could probably put one in the post today, or tomorrow at the latest.

New Sachs slave next to the original Sachs one.

Turbo and associated pipes re fitted.

Changing the gearbox oil is so much easier when it's not in the car.

I've checked and double checked but unfortunately the last owner got these fittings the wrong way around when replacing the fuel pipes.

I confirmed it by blowing air down the return line.

As my flaring tool can't be used on the car I had to cut each pipe, swap the pipe nuts over and add a flared section.

The joys of restoration.

Hi Dave
Could you do me a favour and take a picture from above of the steering arms attached at the steering rack? I took mine off to overhaul them and didn't notice until I went to refit them that there is a slight angle on the end of the arms where they fit to the steering rack. So I just want to check if the arms angled towards the front or rear of the car.
Cheers

Something of a coincidence as I had removed my tie rods last night for overhaul.

I had a pair in better condition and had some fittings made up a while ago by a local engineer. New SKF adjusters and Lemforder ball joint ends.

I also had some inner tie rod bushes that Alex made for me a long time ago.

So it all went together nicely using the old rods as length reference.
New nylock nuts and we are good.

So to answer your question, they face forwards as the come out of the bracket.
Be careful if you have bought new tie rods as the only ones I've seen for sale are for left hand drive cars and are different.

Thanks that’s perfect.
I didn’t change the arms as they were okay. I just had to free the adjusters off and fitted new track rod ends and give them all a paint.
I managed to get new bushes for the inner ends but didn’t fit them as the originals were still good.
cheers ?

No problem.
The Lemforder ball joints look identical to the original Audi marked ones which also have the Lemforder mark. The new ones are made in Malaysia so I very much doubt they will last 29 years like the originals.
