That’s an absolute bargain at 36k for everything you have done wish I had a spare 36k I’d snap this up but I’ve got enough going on atm S2 restoration and earlier in the year rs5 engine rebuild get any more cars I’d be getting a divorce lol

I'm struggling to find anyone local to me to paint the car. Get fed up getting let down.
Gave her a wash and scrub yesterday. Looking good.
I have another little project I would like to make a start on so I'm keen to move this on. Just a few little jobs to finish like paint, fitting the new door trims and the sun roof panel and the door card material is just starting to come off in places.
I will put a proper advert up but would accept £36k ono from a forum member.
This represents a bit of a bargain considering the work that has been done. Anyway, I would be happy just to get my money spent back and see someone enjoy her. She is now back on the original registration which starts M3. Now there a thought. Humm

The metal surrounds can only be scavenged from a roof lining. I cut the roof lining to get the surround on the bench and use a blow torch to burn away the material, then heat the surround up gently all around to anneal it, then bend the retaining strips back. Even then, some of it will crack as you fold it over into the roof.

You may have noticed that my sunroof control panel isn't fitted. I'm after a good metal surround if anyone has a spare.
Cheers

Took her to a local cars and coffee this morning then gave here a good scrub before she gets sorn for the winter.
I've had some interest but no viewings.
Unfortunately the paint shop rang me during the week and said they won't be able to fit her in until after Christmas now.
She is running really well.
I'm open to offers if anyone wants to finish her off.

This will be an amazing example for the new lucky ownerOriginally posted by Tractor Dave View PostExactly my thoughts.
If anyone is interested, I'm planning on selling her soon. I can't keep them all!
To comply with forum rules, I will put an advert together.

Just came across your posta agin as I was looking up fuel filters and saw all the dirt that came out of yours. My URQ has been sitting for about 5 years so even though I replaced the filter just before thaht, am going to do it again in case all the old fuel has gunged it up...just ticking stuff off the list to get the thing running properly again

I though perhaps you'd have gotten attached to the car by now and decided to keep it, I don't need to tell you you'll never get another one as well put together as your's!
I guess you have that lovely early UR that kinda needs paint as well as the Nothelle S2 Avant that's quicker than a stock RS2 and more stealthy so I can understand you not wanting to keep hold of it. Anyway, someone will be getting an extremely well sorted example, you've done a cracking job of the car and I'm glad you've had a really decent road trip in the old girl.
I managed to get 30.7 MPG out of mine on one tank of fuel just cruising along at 60-70mph on the motorway on one of my Scotland missions so they can indeed be driven frugally. However, I rarely got over 25mpg if driving 'normally', think the worst I managed was just over 20mpg on one tank when driving like an idiot.
